There are so many songs that could have been the final song.

Maybe put Dangerous earlier, and end with Heal the World, Will You Be There or Gone Too Soon.

"Can't Let Her Get Away" and "She Drives Me Wild" were doo doo

I tend to break it up like this:

Part I
01 Jam
02 In the Closet
03 Remember the Time
04 Heal the World
Part II
05 Black or White
06 Who Is It
07 Give In to Me
08 Will You Be There
Interlude
09 Gone Too Soon
Finale
10 Dangerous

Bonus
01 Why You Wanna Trip on Me
02 She Drives Me Wild
03 Can't Let Her Get Away
04 Keep the Faith

Basically, I keep all the singles and title track in place, and move the remaining four songs to a separate disc.

'Gone Too Soon' sounds too saccharine for that album, especially as its closing track.

'Someone Put Your Hand Out' and 'For All Time' are more suitable for B-side songs.

They placed the 'Dangerous' song at the end so that it would work backwards.

Work backwards? How do you mean? In case somebody wanted to program the order to be 14, 13, 12, 11... That's seems like it would be a strange waste of time.

'Gone Too Soon' sounds too saccharine for that album, especially as its closing track.
Considering the same album has Heal the World, Keep the Faith and Will You Be There, I'd say it fits right in.

I wouldn’t change the track list personally. I would just trim some of the songs—cut a few of the chorus repetitions in ā€œWho Is It,ā€ remove the Beethoven intro in ā€œWill You Be There,ā€ remove the spoken intro to ā€œBlack or White,ā€ etc.

Plus, as much as I love many of the outtakes, I don’t think they fit the album aesthetic, whether sonically or lyrically/thematically.

Just because a song is an outtake doesn't mean it's more suited to be a B-sides, lol.

"For All Time" was only left off because they wanted to replace it with "Gone Too Soon".

"Someone Put Your Hand Out" wasn't completed in time, so it was left off.

Exactly. It's perfect just the way it is. I wouldn't add or remove any songs.

You're right, not every song needs to be 5 or 6 minutes.

The album itself is all over the place. Exactly half of it is dated New jack swing jams ("Jam", "Why You Wanna Trip on Me", "In the Closet", "She Drives Me Wild", "Remember the Time", "Can't Let Her Get Away", and "Dangerous"). Then, you have the wannabe rock songs ("Black or White" and "Give in to Me"). Then, you have the corny ballads ("Heal the World", "Will You Be There", "Keep the Faith", and "Gone Too Soon").

Nothing's out of place on an album with no real sense of direction or cohesion. But even if none of the outtakes would have fit, there's no excuse for trash like "Can't Let Her Get Away" and "She Drives Me Wild". You may just cut the number of tracks to 12. Even then, "Keep the Faith" is pretty forgettable, too, so you may as well cut that out, too.

Have you thought of just skipping the ones you don't like?

I listened to the album all the way through yesterday from the SACD Mofi release.

By the time we got to CLHHGA we were pretty tired of the NJS. A lot of those tracks could have been trimmed and I agree with Always there Who Is It needed a trim. I get what Michael was trying to do and Q wasnt there to stop MJ from making 8 minute long tracks—it's like a kid in a candy store. Too much of a good thing.

1. Jam
2. In the Closet
3. She Drives Me Wild

4. Remember the Time (1 minute shorter)
5. Black or White (no intro)
6. Give into me
7. Someone put your hand out

8. Who is it (3 minutes shorter)
9. For all time
10. Will you be there (no intro)

11. Heal the World
12. For all time
13. Dangerous

No MJ album is perfect lol

If you're gonna skip a track, then what's the point of it being there? Better to just drop it from the album entirely.
Perhaps the problem is you? Maybe flip it around and ask yourself ā€œwhat’s the point of ME being here?ā€

You don’t strike me as a Michael fan -general observation of the way you casually trash pretty much everything-, you’re more a casual listener who likes a handful of tracks.

I’m not sure what your point is? Every album has an origin story.

Great. Mine hasn't arrived. How is it?

By the time we got to CLHHGA we were pretty tired of the NJS.
To be honest, "NJS" isn't a real thing and most people don't know what it is. When I'm listening to the album I don't keep reminding myself whether a certain song is "NJS" or not.

A lot of those tracks could have been trimmed and I agree with Always there Who Is It needed a trim.
While I'd agree now in retrospect, when the album was new I didn't think that way. When I first got the album it was on cassette, and it wasn't written on the back cover, so there was no way of knowing how long the album was, let alone the length of each individual song.

It was MJ, and I was 14, so it never felt like a song was going on for too long. Some of those lengthy intros just build up the song. I didn't even consider in my head that one song had ended and the other had started. I just let the music wash over me.

Also, you had For all Time twice.

In the sense that it brings the album back to its (new jack swing) first half.
"Someone Put Your Hand Out" wasn't completed in time, so it was left off.
Apparently they thought that 'Someone Put Your Hand Out' eventually did not deserve to be on the album, which explains why they did not care to finish it in time (for inclusion on that album).
The album itself is all over the place.
They wanted the 'Dangerous' album to cater for all musical tastes, and also they wanted the album's singles to have big success in the US Billboard Hot 100 (a chart that covers all musical genres).

It's okay to make a bunch of threads about changing Invincible tracklist, but when you make one about Dangerous, it's "rage baiting" 🤣

Dangerous could've legitimately been a double album with how many goated unreleased songs stem from that era

JAM
DANGEROUS (Immortal Style Version)
IN THE CLOSET (Single Version)
WHO IS IT
GIVE IN TO ME
FOR ALL TIME
BLOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR
REMEMBER THE TIME
BLACK OR WHITE (No Intro)
KEEP THE FAITH
WILL YOU BE THERE (5 Min Free Willy Version)
SOMEONE PUT YOUR HAND OUT

Really? Then where's the jazz, polka, zydeco, bossa nova, go-go, death metal, Krautrock, Tejano, cumbia, country, ranchero, showtunes, bluegrass, free jazz, psychobilly, western swing, traditional Chinese folk, dancehall, reggae, new wave, Southern Soul, rave, house, avant-garde, progressive rock, grunge, stoner rock, punk rock, smooth jazz, sophistipop, thrash, blues, bop, salsa, etc.?

They wanted the 'Dangerous' album to cater for a wide range of musical tastes, if you feel better with that.

"Can't Let Her Get Away" and "She Drives Me Wild" shouldn't have made the album, but other than those two songs, I don't mind Dangerous's tracklist that much.
