If Michael had a hand in the song, he should be credited but I don't see him. Unless the original production was always produced by RogerSo is it like a 50/50 chance that the instrumental of "Stop That" is a more developed version of Tomboy and we barely "discovered" this?
As per Bill Bottrell's session calendar, last known work was on January 22, 1986 (overdubs & rough mixing). Which pretty much implies full (scratch?) vocals.I think it's a bit unlikely because Joe Vogel mentioned that the song wasn't worked on after 1985 and that's when the song was registered. Unless MJ recorded the vocals in 1985 still or if he only registered the instrumental.
With a name like Tomboy, I wonder what the lyrical content is aboutAs per Bill Bottrell's session calendar, last known work was on January 22, 1986 (overdubs & rough mixing). Which pretty much implies full (scratch?) vocals.
Obviously about a Tomboy, I'd guess. With a name like Tomboy, I wonder what the lyrical content is about
Ask him on XObviously about a Tomboy, I'd guess.
Somebody's mentioned here Tomboy, the 1985 movie. Perhaps, it's has served as an inspiration for this song. Would Bill Bottrell know more about the songs origin?
Might not always be the case. The movie is about a woman named Tomasina "Tommy" Boyd who works as a mechanic and wants to become a race car driverObviously about a Tomboy, I'd guess.
