1990 – Nelson Mandela, born on 18 July 1918. South African President, a civil rights hero and martyr who claimed victory in his lifetime crusade to establish a non-racial democracy for South Africa. He was arrested as a political prisoner on August 5, 1962 and spent 27 years in prison, released on February 11, 1990. Mandela celebrated his 80th birthday by marrying his sweetheart, 52 year-old Graca Machel, on July 18, 1998. The two exchanged vows in a private civil ceremony at Mandela's home outside of Johannesburg, followed by his birthday celebration the next day attended by 2,000 guests. It was attended by such renowned people as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Danny Glover and Naomi Campbell.

2003 - Janet Arvizo gets a body wax in a beauty shop close to Neverland. Michael's friends, Mark Lester, Robert Evans, Miko & Karen Brando (with their children Prudence & Shane) come to Neverland to suport him. Wiesner & Konitzer (with his family) also stay over at the ranch to work on the TV rebuttal.
2006 – Michael Jackson, Anton, Grace & the kids fly from Roma to London. They stay on and off at Cliveden in Berkshire , the magnificent backdrop to the Profumo sex scandal where they visit Mark Lester and his family.
2008 - The Thriller 25th Anniversary Special Edition is released in Europe. Jackson issued a 25th anniversary edition of his top-selling album Thriller called Thriller 25. It is a double disc album; disc one contains the original nine tracks from "Thriller", five remixed "Thriller" tracks, a song originally recorded in the Thriller era called "For All Time", a voice over by Vincent Price and featured will.i.am, Fergie, Kanye West, and Akon, with single releases alongside the album. Disc two is a DVD which contains the three music videos from "Thriller" and Jackson's performance of "Billie Jean" at Motown 25.
Internationally, "The Girl Is Mine 2008" was released as a single, while in the United States, "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" was the first single, both of which were moderately successful. Thriller 25 was a commercial success, having done particularly well as a re-issue, peaking at number one in eight countries, Europe and the United World Chart. It peaked at #2 in the United States, #3 in the United Kingdom and reached the Top 10 in over thirty national charts. A judge is scheduled to decide Thursday whether Michael Jackson's father should receive medical records related to his superstar son's death.
Joe Jackson's attorney issued a subpoena last month seeking all his son's medical records from UCLA Medical Center, where Michael Jackson died on June 25.
His attorney, Brian Oxman, sought the files as part of an effort to obtain a monthly stipend for the Jackson family patriarch. He says his client has a right to know more about his son's death and the records could also determine whether they pursue a wrongful death lawsuit.

Attorneys for Michael Jackson's estate want the judge to quash the subpoenas and argue they violate privacy rights and are not relevant to the allowance request. If they win, they want Oxman and Joe Jackson to pay nearly $9,000 in legal fees.
Oxman says Joe Jackson will not attend Thursday's hearing.

Vocals Join 'We Are The Word 25'
Late King of Pop, Michael Jackson will appear in the 25th anniversary remake of “We Are The World" !
According to Access Hollywood, Jackson's vocals will be featured alongside a previously announced line up of entertainers that includes Trey Songz, Jennifer Hudson, Toni Braxton and Robin Thicke.
Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, who, along with Jackson, brought the original version to life in 1985, told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson that the King of Pop’s original vocals and footage would be used in the song and video. But Jackson is not the only addition, he will appear posthumously in a split-screen with his sister, Janet Jackson (in the accompanying video).
"To have Michael’s presence singing his part is the best gift we could ever get," Lionel Richie said in a statement.
The video and song are set to premiere Friday, February 12.
