Dangerous - First Release

I remember watching the news on the release of the Dangerous album and the packaging I saw in the shops was kinda strange - it was not the regular CD and it wasn't the special pop-up edition either. Today I saw pictures in one of the newly released books. Anyone has some info on it? Thanks.

What you are refering to is the old "Longbox" packaging.
Back in the late 80's and early 90's, new CD's were released by the record companies inside these long cardboard sleeves that would replicate the cover artwork, and the actual CD and jewel case were housed inside the longbox.
Not sure exactly when they stopped making longboxes but must have been at least 15 years or so.
These have become quite the collectable item these days.
The first 3 CD's I ever ownes (gift from my prents)- Thriller, Bad and Dangerous all came with longboxes.
I wish I still had them, have no clue what ever happened to them.
