it‘s YouTube Super Resolution which will be soon applied to all videos in standard definition and is currently limited to 1080p, but soon expanded to 2160pBad (Shortened Version) It received a Full HD upscale, done by YouTube itself, like TDCAU.
Sony and the Estate are not involved in this.
Apparently, many YouTube videos are receiving this feature.
considering it‘s based on a 16 year old compressed upload which is around 10mb in file size, I‘d say it‘s pretty good for thatForced AI upscaling is vomit inducing. Wow.
Edit: I've just seen TDCAU and it's worse than I thought. I guess that's something. Jesus.
I mean I guess so but it also feels very pointless if you are having to make those defences for it lolconsidering it‘s based on a 16 year old compressed upload which is around 10mb in file size, I‘d say it‘s pretty good for that
Took me a second thereMerged some threads. I think we can probably discuss the youtube upscaling related stuff here instead of creating new threads every time.
well its just an experimental feature by YouTube, so just don‘t use it if you don‘t like it. It‘s not like the estate activated or manually did it, it‘s just a nice to have, not something to complain aboutI mean I guess so but it also feels very pointless if you are having to make those defences for it lol
just putting a standard definition video in a 4K container, doesn‘t mean it‘s 4K(No AI)
MJ took pride in the quality of his work, so yes it is something to be unhappy about.well its just an experimental feature by YouTube, so just don‘t use it if you don‘t like it. It‘s not like the estate activated or manually did it, it‘s just a nice to have, not something to complain about
that has absolutely nothing to do with the upload itselfMJ took pride in the quality of his work, so yes it is something to be unhappy about.
And they screened the remastered Thriller in IMAX in 2017. From then until 2022, they had that 4K version stored in vaults for 5 years until they released it for the Thriller 40th.I mean, in theory this has potential. Obviously, it really does depend on the source video. Garbage in = garbage out. The model will improve in time.
That being said, give us the real remasters. Thriller & Beat it were a good start.. they've had years to figure this stuff out tbh.
How long did it take to remaster Beat It?I mean, in theory this has potential. Obviously, it really does depend on the source video. Garbage in = garbage out. The model will improve in time.
