Did MJ ever publicly react to Freddie Mercury's death?

Yes I do not remember Michael activley gave a press-release about the death of a actor, singer etc, not on Fred Astaire, Greogory Peck, Marlon Brando, James Brown, people who he was befriended with or he admired and he sure gave condelences to the family or even was on the funeral.

Only exception Lady Diana, but he was on tour, makes a tribute on it and was asked in interviews about her death.

Michael might have given a press release about it, but since it was 1991, its probably hidden somewhere in the archives.

Michael did release a press statement in 2001, when George Harrison died. The reason why we can easily see this is because of the Internet (in 2001)
“The world has lost a great spirit in George Harrison, a great musician, songwriter, and friend,” Michael Jackson said in a statement. “He was an inspiration to me, and I will miss him a great deal.”

He appeared at James Brown's public memorial right after his death in 2006 and spoke for a bit. I remember that was a big deal at the time, b/c it was one of his first public appearances after the trial ended.
