Donkey Kong Bananza is a truly groundbreaking 3D platformer, with satisfying movement, powerful abilities, impressive destructible environments, and clever challenges that all come together in complete harmony to create Nintendo’s first Switch 2 masterpiece.

Bananza is pretty much the pinnacle of Donkey Kong I've been waiting for since the 90s. This game is so good, it's changed my whole outlook on DK as a character. He was always second-string, at least for me. Now, DK has been bumped up to A-rank, and it's all thanks to Bananza. This game is beautiful, with an incredible soundtrack, seamless mechanics, relentless pacing, and brand new levels of Nintendo polish. Mario Kart World was a great introduction to the Switch 2, but Donkey Kong Bananza is the first can't-miss game to come to the platform. You'd be a fool to pass on this one.

Console Creatures - 10 / 10
Donkey Kong Bananza is far deeper than I ever anticipated, and it's absolutely one of this year's best games. From the moment I started to the moment I finished, I was laughing and smiling through each sublevel while exploring, and Bananza elevates the 3D platformer to a new high for Nintendo by doubling down on what Super Mario Odyssey does so well while re-introducing one of its best characters in a new game. This is undoubtedly what I wanted from the Switch 2, and Donkey Kong Bananza is a charming, elevated open-world platformer.

Donkey Kong Bananza delivers a triumphant return for the ape, offering an open-world, destructive 3D platforming adventure on the Nintendo Switch 2. As a spiritual successor to DK64, it blends nostalgic collectathon mechanics with innovative terrain destruction and new animal transformations, making it a must-buy system seller for the new console.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a statement from Nintendo — making it clear that the company's innovation isn't going to stop on Switch 2. And it's fair to say that this is a game that could have only been achieved on this new system, with how wildly ambitious its world structure and destruction are. Bananza isn't just a system seller; it's a genre-defining game that others will likely be looking to for years to come.

I beat the boss yesterday but it seems there's a little more to see. I haven't went back to it yet so I'm not sure what that entails.

I thought it was very cool that k rool came back, and all the enemies that you were fighting turned into classic dk enemies, or rather they were the entire time, haha. Was a nice throwback to donkey kong country and not something I expected Nintendo to do, honestly.

This doesn’t happen in the postgame iirc.
