Hey guys,

I’m a new member! Have been following Michael all of my life. I’ve had spells here and there where Ive been an obsessed fan, then it would fade but I’ve always been a fan. But since watching a fake trailer for his new movie I’ve become totally obsessed and I’m more than excited for the real trailer to come out and to watch it on opening night!

Anyway… enough about me! I was wondering if you guys find it annoying when people try to compare Michael to another artist or when people try to claim other artists as more famous than Michael? 😂

I saw a post on Twitter/X of someone saying that Taylor Swift is more famous than MJ 😂😂😂😂

It’s been 15 years since Michael’s passing and people are STILL talking about him. Doesn’t get anymore famous than that 💃💃

I'm a big fan of Michael and Ms. Swift. They are both great artists. But I see no reason to compare them... They are so different. People should stop saying that somebody is better than somebody else. Just enjoy music, they create.

I very much agree! They’re both great in their own right and lane. Two totally different era’s too. You can’t compare!

I agree! Just enjoy good music and not hate on the other

Michael's reach is truly world wide, and even now 15 years after he is gone people know him and his work. People can say whatever based on their narrow view of the world.
Yesss! I agree extremely worldwide. There’s still young people listening to him and I find that amazing that he’s still influencing people 15 years after his passing.

I agree! It’s peoples opinions I guess. But one shouldn’t compare or bash another artist to big up their favourite artist 😭

Not really, dont care. Ive been part of MJJF / MJJC since 2003, part of the online fan communities since 1998. It goes in cycles, every few years theres always someone the media say will be the next King of Pop, the new Michael Jackson. They are high profile for a while , then they fade away. Its nothing to get worked up about, its just a fun game at this stage.

Yawn, dont care. People now adays have no understand just how much impact Michael had on the music industry, just how famous he really is. Its Taylor Swift in 2024, in 2025 it will will be someone else. But NONE of them will ever have the world wide cultural impact of GENERATIONS. Michael did it all without the internet, without streaming, in a time when people had one tv and one radio in a home and people had to physically buy a vinyl record or cassette for a song to be number 1 in the charts.

Wooow! Since 2003! That’s amazing! I think because I’m a newly big big fan I just find it crazy but also laughable 😂
I definitely won’t take it to heart though.

Yeah I agree with that I don’t think people understand just how big he was back then and even now in this new day and age. Yes exactly without social media and the internet and that’s what’s amazing to me.

No disrespect to Michael or his family, but many people have been gone longer and are still greatly remembered. Its been almost 50 years since Elvis passed, and people still revere him around the world.

Note that Michael Jackson (15 years since his passing) is still being talked about, but this happens also about negative things regarding him (such as, his sexual scandals, his cosmetic plastic surgeries, his extensive lip-syncing during his final world tour, and so on).

Yess! This is also very true!! I'm just not a fan of when people compare artists that a greatly different to discredit the other artist. Elvis too was a great musician too and I agree with you :)

Yesss! Which is heartbreaking to me that he's still talked about so negatively. Even if he did lip-sync during his final tour who cares hahaha everyone knows he can sing and sing live :/

I think for something like this I have to learn to not take it to heart because at the end of the day he's still awesome but you're very right
