Didn't know this was shot on film, isn't this just a VHS to Film for theaters?

We're not getting a 4k scan anyway cause it's tape
Tape is basically DVD quality

That is a tape. It would need to be a film reel for 4K.

That can be 4K I think. The auction ends in just 8 hours and its not very expensive.

The Estate has the original 35mm negatives in their possession (most likely). This is a tape master from after special FX production.

I do believe we can come up with better results from a raw rip of this rather than any of the versions released on DVD through the years.

That auction ends in 50 minutes. I hope someone who can scan it gets it. Would be great to see it in better quality.
 
Ooof, already ended... hopefully it went to someone that's willing to share, assuming anything can be done with it.
