emotional songs

I'm So Blue - The universal feelings of heartbreak/rejection. This one more so than other tracks on this topic because of the piercing synth harmonica, almost like a shrill cry of longing. Also the beautiful "set me free" vocals.

Childhood - Basically Michael regressing back into the youth he never knew. And him choking up at the end. The pain is tangible in his vocal performance.

Best Of Joy - Fitting that one of Michael's final known complete vocals contains the line(s) - "I am/we are forever". Almost as if it was his unknowing goodbye to fans and the beginning of everyone reflecting on his legacy. Michael now lives through us.

I am so blue is amazing.

- Someone in the dark. Love the message of enduring friendship. I think millions of lonely people could relate to this song which imo was made to produce comfort for those people

- Music and me. The guitar intro immediately gets me, Nobody can deny that Motown picked some great songs for Michael to sing.

- To make my father proud. A pretty universal message, we all doubt sometimes when we reflect back on our past. Are my parents proud of what I have done with my life?

- Ben. Could be a companion piece to Someone In The Dark.

- Be Not Always. Just plain depressing, no hope left, Michael at his most bleak. The lyrics destroy me. The guitar is pure sadness

- Will You Be There. Made me cry as a kid. The classical intro turning into angelic soft sounds then going crescendo in an epic choir vs Michael sing off before scaling down again into soft angelic chanting and ending with a very touching spoken word piece. Brilliant track

- We’re almost there. The opposite of Be not always. Michael lifts you up here, great uplifting and spirited song and performance

- Childhood. The instrumental break in the middle with swelling strings gives me a lump in my throat

- Scared Of The Moon. I always had the feeling there was more to this song behind the words which makes it very bleak and foreboding imo

- People of the world. Final part with the children talking and singing over the breakdown is pretty brilliant
- We’re here to entertain you. Maybe a bit odd with a title like this but the entire song sounds like a regret to me. Michael’s delivery sounds more like a lament than a celebration. Like Scared Of The Moon there seems to be a double meaning.

- Heal the world. When the kid joins Michael with singing at the end it feels really magical to me

While we was alive, Gone Too Soon.

When he died, Will You Be There, and any of the environmental ones. It's basically one guy pissing into the wind, trying to change the world in the only way he knows how, while everybody puts him down repeatedly.

“I’ve been singing for so very long…….”

….gets me every time:cry:

In terms of studio versions , for Lady in my life. Live She's out of my life. Which is why i got so frustrated why he never sung Lady in my life in concert. Though the Dangerous tour versions of She's out of my life are incredible. I not sure why he stuck to that one . Though

The first that comes to mind is Man in the Mirror - I adore that song like crazy and rarely tire of it. Gone Too Soon is another good one, with a powerful message. The anguish in Michael's voice during Who Is It always hits me in my core, and the anger in Privacy remains very memorable.

Well,I can’t choose it But I think Man in the mirror is the best.
It makes me so powerful.
Also,Hollywood . This song makes my feeling goood!
