Let's discuss the energetic, fast tempo songs Michael's written all by himself at an early age (up to the release of the Thriller album).

WBSS, WDAN, HH, Beat It, Sunset Driver and probably more (that are lying in a dusty corner of the vault).

What do y'all think of these (could have been) bangers? Do you think there are more unreleased gems akin to SD?

If the bold part is important, then we have virtually nothing?

WBSS is the best one by far, but really there should be a writing credit for the chant at the end.

I always thought TIDFY was written by MJ alone... or mostly... Maybe wrong now that I check it.
 
"Heartbreak Hotel" is really underrated. Almost as good as MJ's solo classics. It could've benefited from Quincy's input, though.
 
Things I Do For You and Lovely One are songs I consider to be MJ songs - probably slightly influenced by his decision to keep them for the '87 tour, but even going back as far as the Triumph Tour, those songs ooze everything that MJ the superstar would become live. To a lesser extent, Walk Right Now even though it's still a favourite.

Walk Right Now is incredible.
 
Moreso from Bruce' mixing skills.
Yeah, I think Bruce would have been a bigger addition here - BUT saying that, that complete cold almost sterile sound of Triumph is what differentiates it from the rest of his solo career to me and I couldn't imagine it sounding sleeker. It almost sounds indie soul to me.
 
^ Actually, I can think of 6 songs (SYB, TIDFY, That's What You Get, HH, Lovely One & WRN) that Bruce could have elevated to another level just by applying his distinctive mixing nuances.

Maybe, or maybe not. If it wasn't for Q, Beat It could have still been dusting in the vault as barebone sketch.

It's more than likely there're other songs of similar pace and structure; the question remains at what state of completion those are?
