Extended version of “one more chance” available somewhere?

He thinks his AI crap is superior.

no.. i don't.. in-fact my opinion about those horns sounding like shite doesn't actually have anything to do with my music..
but you know what?.. i have used fake horns in the past which sounds miles better than whats used on OMC... and it's no wonder because
midi-stuff was not as good in 2000s as in 2024...
stop attacking people for nothing bro.

Of course there is more there is always more, it is just cut short

what i was saying is there is no extended version released/leaked. No one knows if it's exist.

Imo it is unlikely that this is the only thing that was recorded. It likely has several different vocal takes and Michael probably sang some lines and definitely some ad libs differently. The fact the song fades out instead is probably proof of more.

It is like APOM, the sexy horns also only appear during the fade out and we know there is an extended version of that Song

As for the horns I partly agree, I prefer real ones if it is a live setting, it brings extra energy. APOM live is the best example of that.

I get what you mean but APOM live is keyboard horns 🤪

I completely forgot about those horns. They sounded like a polyphonic ringtone then and now!

I agree, the finished vocal sounds like a compilation of multiple takes.

If memory serves me right, the number 1's album was released the same day Neverland got raided?

I remember buying it and then couldn't believe what was happening later that day? Sure it was a Monday?

Yep. Same day they were set to finish filming the music video. Tom Sneddon later mocked MJ on the news for being upset over the album’s release being overshadowed by the controversy.

Also- did we ever get confirmation that OMC was created specifically for Number Ones or was it worked on prior for Invincible?

One More Chance was written for Invincible and most of the work was made for that album, but the song wasn't finished until 2003.
"In November 2003 Michael spent time in Las Vegas to film a video for a new single, 'One More Chance', which he agreed to include on a new greatest hits album, Number Ones. Michael still owed Sony a greatest hits album and a box set, and Number Ones, which was scheduled to be release worldwide on November 17 and in the United States a day later... 'One More Chance' was originally written for Michael by R.Kelly as a possible track for Invincible, and was mostly completed during those sessions." - Making Michael
“One More Chance” was one of two songs R. Kelly wrote for Invincible. It was intended to have a retro, early ’80s feel. Jackson recorded his vocal for the light, mid-tempo track with Brad Buxer. Although it ultimately wasn’t included on the album, it was revisited and mixed in 2003 before being featured on the 2003 greatest-hits collection Number Ones. While it failed to receive airplay in the United States, it became a Top 10 hit in the UK, Italy, and Spain. - Man In The Music

I quite like the song, but I was always disappointed that the remixes played it too safe. It would have been nice if they changed the song a little bit.

Those are cheap keyboard horns.. and there is no extended version of that song
Oh boy..
Grumpy grandpa at it again.
Spare us, would you!?
No cheap keyboard instrument is as cheap as A.I. generated vocals posing as something/someone they are most definitely not!

I also quite like this song, to me it’s the best of the three „r. kelly collabs“ ..
And I also would like an extended mix of that song!

Never made AI „generated“ music or vocals so…

Also what has the one to do with the other?
Really low to attack people cause they state an opinion about something..
Midi simply weren’t as good in 2001…
The fact that they used some cheap horn sounds has nothing to do with the quality of the song (I love the song) but since they used cheap horn sounds it’s most likely possible that those horns doesn’t appear again in the extended version because guess what.. they doesn’t sound very good. That was the whole point of me saying it’s cheap horn sounds.

Coming back to this thread because it turns out an extended version of One More Chance exists… kinda. It’s this original demo with vocals by Secret Weapon. This version is slightly longer than the MJ version and has more of the horns at the end. The horns at the end don’t really change, they just play the same riff 3x times before the song fades out, unlike the MJ version where they’re only heard once before the fade out.

There’s also some more vocals/ad libs at the end not present on the MJ version (who knows, maybe MJ did record more vocals but they faded out before we could hear them). This version of the song has a drum machine and is pitched down a semitone.

Turns out R Kelly wrote the song for this band named “Secret Weapon”. Their record deal fell through and all their stuff was unreleased, so R Kelly gave the song to MJ. R Kelly also had his own writers demo of the song that likely predates this version by Secret Weapon, but that is yet to be leaked (but R Kelly’s original demo vocals were accidentally used in the Ford remix of One More Chance). I know it’s not exactly what the original poster was after, but you get to hear more of the horns that they were wanting to hear. It also reveals that the horns didn’t really go any further melodically and just replayed that same riff several times.
