Extended version of “one more chance” available somewhere?

R Kelly also had his own writers demo of the song that likely predates this version by Secret Weapon, but that is yet to be leaked (but R Kelly’s original demo vocals were accidentally used in the Ford remix of One More Chance).
It did leak. & You hear R.Kelly more in the finished version that mj recorded which is odd. Even the background vocals are r.kelly only & the "tell her this for me" bit

Coming back to this thread because it turns out an extended version of One More Chance exists… kinda. It’s this original demo with vocals by Secret Weapon. This version is slightly longer than the MJ version and has more of the horns at the end. The horns at the end don’t really change, they just play the same riff 3x times before the song fades out, unlike the MJ version where they’re only heard once before the fade out.

There’s also some more vocals/ad libs at the end not present on the MJ version (who knows, maybe MJ did record more vocals but they faded out before we could hear them). This version of the song has a drum machine and is pitched down a semitone.

Turns out R Kelly wrote the song for this band named “Secret Weapon”. Their record deal fell through and all their stuff was unreleased, so R Kelly gave the song to MJ. R Kelly also had his own writers demo of the song that likely predates this version by Secret Weapon, but that is yet to be leaked (but R Kelly’s original demo vocals were accidentally used in the Ford remix of One More Chance). I know it’s not exactly what the original poster was after, but you get to hear more of the horns that they were wanting to hear. It also reveals that the horns didn’t really go any further melodically and just replayed that same riff several times.
Wow, I’ve never heard this before. That was a nice listen and I love the extended adlib section. It would be nice hearing MJ sing those.

I saw this awhile ago and I’m pretty sure this is fan made by isolating/filtering the R Kelly vocals from the Ford remix then just laying them over a filtered one more chance instrumental. The guy said he “found it on reddit” and then says “#freerkelly” so I think he’s just trolling lmao. Even though it’s probably not real if an R Kelly demo of OMC ever leaked it would sound exactly like this fan made version, just without the vocals being poorly filtered. At the end you can even hear some vocal artefacts from where MJ was I saw this awhile ago and I’m pretty sure this is fan made by isolating/filtering the R Kelly vocals from the Ford remix then just laying them over a filtered one more chance instrumental. Another hint that it’s probably fake is that it has the real recorded drums, unlike the Secret Weapon demo which has a drum machine/computerised drums. I think if R Kelly was to make a demo, it would’ve predated the secret weapon one and had the same drum machine as their demo. Even though it’s probably not real if an R Kelly demo of OMC ever leaked it would sound exactly like this fan made version, just without the vocals being poorly filtered and without the final drums. Near the end you can even hear some vocal artefacts from where MJ was adlibing. Real or not, it’s really interesting to see how much of R Kelly’s vocal take they used in the final mix, even cutting MJ off in the middle of a sentence and letting R Kelly finish the line.. I agree, the finished vocal sounds like a compilation of multiple takes.
Mixed in with R. Kelly’s guide vocal, with one particular note before every chorus being Kelly’s own voice, oddly. Couldn’t MJ hit that note himself?

U made me read so much twice

I don’t think that was the case since he hits higher notes in that song (like in the adlib sections). I can’t come up with any other reason except for that he must have liked it so much that he decided to keep it in. I’ve always found that a bit odd.
