'Faking Michael' Podcast Out Now

I hope he bears all. Did he know about the intent behind the songs when he started recording, or was it dropped on him later on? When and where were the songs recorded? Did he ever actually speak with the estate, or did they just threaten him into silence as revealed in the podcast?

Malachi still deserves to be chastised for participating in this, but I’m genuinely curious about how much of a victim he is to the estate, Cascio, and Porte.

Jason wants attention. People with certain expectation would love to give him that attention. In the era of social media, attention is all you need.

I can already hear him singing...

everybody wanting a piece of Jason Malachi
reporters stalking the moves of Jason Malachi
just when you thought he was done
he comes to give it again

I think bashing Jason is kind of unfair, especially since we don’t actually know what happened behind the scenes.

It’s very possible he was told that his vocals would only be used in the background, or that they were just demos and not intended for official release. He may also have been bound by a contract that prevented him from speaking publicly about it.
To me, Jason always came across as someone who may have been misled. He seemed like he wanted to tell the truth as far back as 2011—remember that Twitter post he deleted (or that was “hacked”)? It’s likely he was under pressure and forced to take it down.

We also know that there are people in Hollywood who can be extremely ruthless. Some of them were close to MJ as well.
Names that often come up in this context are Eddie Cascio and Frank Cascio.

Hopefully, Jason will allow us to learn the true story soon. However, it's worth noting that he remained silent for a very, very long time, as if he had something to hide.

The songs existed since MJ was alive. He recorded those vocals ages ago. What the Casios did with them after MJ passed doesn’t really involve him at all.

But he knew the truth and remained silent. He could have said something on the day of release. He could have uploaded a video of himself singing those damn three songs. Presumably, he was hoping for a great opportunity to be able to sing "new" MJ songs from now on.

my guess is, those songs were intended for Jason initially in 2007 and were recorded for his album. Eddie Ca$hio took them after Michael's death. I don't believe MJ would record something like Burn Tonight or the other rip-offs of older songs.

some of Jason's unreleased music (soundcloud) heavily sample old MJ tracks and he released one tribute song on an album. MJ was his idol, i doubt he would record fake songs on purpose.

it's also highly possible he and James Porte should have been on background vocals only (+ demo vocals) and Eddie produced those demos for MJ.

This doesn’t align with the podcast revelations though, which seem to make it rather clear that Eddie and James created the versions we know today after MJ’s death. None of the registered versions feature anyone other than James.

What’s so hard to accept is the lack of easily available knowledge, even by s. c. hardcore fans & the matter of fact way in which those same fans state their (wrong) beliefs.

Jason recorded his vocals AFTER MJ had died.
Can’t know everything about everything, that’s not conducive to discussion anyway

UH??????

Two things: does this imply that 50 knew? Also, wishful thinking, but does anyone think that this could be in response to the Cascio abuse allegations? Jason is finally deciding to do the right thing and also illustrate the Cascios as proven liars?
Fiddy's story was that MJ's team did hit him up shortly before his death to propose a possible collaboration, but he only got to listen to the song after MJ's death and that it sounded like Thriller 2, so I know he was lying about the Thriller 2 part

I remember hearing about that. I’m just curious if at any point during production 50 was told about the vocal concerns.

If you listened to Faking Michael then you would know that everything you state here is factually incorrect.
