Michael made the premiere performance of Black or White and Will You Be There during the MTV 10th anniversary celebration when the single and video of BOW was released and soon afterwards the Dangerous album in November 1991.

However, according to IMDb this TV special was released in June 6th 1991 or at least recorded that date with more famous people that starred there like Mel Gibson, Madonna, Tom Cruise and Aerosmith.

So does that mean those song where already completed at that time and the audience that you see in the video clip of those perfomances got a sneak preview of those songs at that time, before anything was released?

The recording of MJ’s performance (‘Black or White’ & ‘Will You Be There&#8217 took place before the official air (27 November 1991) of the MTV’s 10th Anniversary Special.

In fact, the recording took place several days before, & more specifically, on November 15th & 16th.

The audience shots could have been a result of editing.
