German Documentary “Michael Jackson: Auf der Suche nach der Wahrheit” (In Search of the Truth)

MoonwalkingKay said:
Someone mentioned earlier why this docu is named 'in search of the truth' while we already know the truth. You forget that the general audience who were brainwashed for +30 years by the media with all the crazy stories about Michael don't. They don't have a clue what is true and what isn't. I think it's a good title to draw people in especially after all the fuzz about LN. And I like it that it's a neutral documentary. (from what I hear) Gives the haters even less ammo to talk it down.

Exactly. People shouldn't really be bothered by the name of the documentary, the inclusion of Zonen or the idea that those three were asked to participate. The fact that they declined to back up their already-proven lies is quite revealing. Thankfully, they won't have any no-show option in court.

We cannot and should not expect fluff pieces where only Michael's side is shown. That's not how true journalism works. Even if in their hatch job, they denied the Estate any voice, it doesn't mean that any other documentary should employ the same swampy tactics. Let their lies be exposed and explained away, without of course, getting into every single, last horrifying, NAMBLA-inspired detail.

It's like a dream come true (two of my favorite things, MJ and excursion combined :D), but at the same time these pictures make me incredibly sad. That's all he wanted, simple, normal life experiences with real people but he was denied of it most of his life. I wish he had moved to Europe or some other place where he could perhaps lead a more private, to some extent more normal life.

I sooo can understand what you are saying, ozemouze. Hikes and MJ really are two of my favorite things in the world, if one could call Michael a thing - the loveliest little, big thing in the world, that is. Matter of fact, I would have gone with Michael into the woods and beyond them at just about any time & for all time

His wish for a 'normal' life is well known as is his almost desperate need to forge the simplest of relationships with people who would not treat him as the genial megastar that he was, but simply as just another human being with whom to have everyday conversation and interaction. I'm sure that was very precious to him.

Same. I took a walk in the park today, to see the sunset, and I tried to imagine what life must be like when you’re not able to do that any time you want. How can people not understand why he had Neverland? And then have even that taken away from him. :(

It is indeed horribly sad, when you think of it that way. Not only did he buy Neverland to escape his fame and to enjoy the gorgeous scenery there, but ALSO to provide a sanctuary for needy children - mainly those in the poor suburbs of California, but also perhaps for the abused kids in Hollywood.

#OnThisDay in 1990, Michael treated 82 abused and neglected children to a BBQ and a day of fun at Neverland Ranch with Childhelp USA. #MJHumanitarian pic.twitter.com/UOKxq3d0mg
— Michael Jackson (@michaeljackson) January 6, 2020

That is why, it is so terrifyingly unfair how they tried to sully the beauty and the innocence of the place starting with 1993 and also last year with that terrible piece. It truly is a shame. Neither Michael, nor that beautiful creation of his, deserve any of the bad names that were attached to them over the years. They truly don't and I am convinced that one day, the bright light of truth will shine over this entire dark situation that has been casting a dreadful shadow over Michael's life and honor for far too long.

MoonwalkingKay said:
I am glad to see Michael had true friends. It makes me both happy and sad because it must have been hard for him to have genuine friendships with people. He could never tell if people would sell him out to the press to make a quick buck. Who to trust. Very few he could truly trust, clearly.

Because of his many trials and tribulations, we tend to focus mostly on the leaches and monsters that did so much harm, but thankfully there were also plenty of decent people in his life - everyone from faithful Hollywood friends, to decent bodyguards and people who were there in professional capacity for decades, to musical collaborators who always had lovely things to say about him to everyday people like the Schleiter family, God bless them. It is a relief to know that beyond all the scumbags and the traitors, there were plenty of good people around to keep him company and give him a modicum of a normal life.

Not only that, but we must remember that when he truly wanted to get away from the craziness of the tabloid world, he could. The man could turn ‘invisible’ for months or years on end and we wouldn’t have a clue as to where on earth he was. He may not have been able to shop at the supermarket or go out for a walk in the park whenever he felt like, but he sure could get away from the madness of it all, without the media (or fans) having any clue whatsoever about his whereabouts.

True but to have zonen on it is just poo

When the subtitled version is released, you’ll see that it’s good that they interviewed him. He had the chance to speak and say anything he wanted, but he didn’t bring up anything substantial, so it’s very clear to the viewer that the whole case was built on nothing. And then he keeps rambling on about how he always “knew” R&S were victims, blah, blah, with no evidence whatsoever. Totally not credible. :)

He knows nothing. He is a DA and they hardly ever if not NEVER admit to being wrong even when they know it.

Yes. They’re currently working on renewing licenses for some footage from other TV channels and media they’ve used, and that process takes a little longer than expected, also because of the age of some of the material like the Black or White video. But they’re working on it. Here’s the journalist’s German tweet from last week. :)

Last thing I heard was in early March, I think, and they were still sorting out some copyrights for international distribution. Then came the pandemic, and I have no idea what the current status is. Ask @NadjaPWagner on Twitter, she made the film. :)

That moment MJ fans realized MJ was visiting the Schleiter family's home. The street gets invaded by fans camping outside the house. I'm surprised they were decent enough to not actually invade the house lol.
It would be fun to see interviews of neighbors and how they looked back on the "event". A big big thumbs up for them not taking advantage of their famous friend, they missed out on thousands of dollars but they kept their integrity.
