Ghost of Another Lover- discussion

Are you sure it can't be 'Ghosts'? That was also planned to be on Dangerous, and 'overdubs by Teddy Riley' would make more sense
Of course it can be, but it says ‘get lyrics from writer’. And if Teddy did overdubs, then why does it say ‘get lyrics from writer’? I think Skylark is the co-writer and GOAL is the song, but I’m only speculating.

That's what I was wondering too, lol. But I agree with you.

BTW. If Teddy did, or was planning overdubs for GOAL, does that indicate there is a more finished version than the one we know (wishful thinking)

Studio logs state June 1993 for Ghosts.

Your probably right, although there has been discussion before about Ghosts, BOTDF and RTT being from the same sessions, since they share similar samples and structure I believe

No doubt Teddy's barebone track of what became Ghosts was presented to Michael's along with others in 1990.

Seems like no (serious) work on it on Michael's side until 1993.

Teddy has done overdubs for "Monkey Business," "Serious Effect," and possibly "Man In Black," so it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to be doing overdubs for "Ghost Of Another Lover"

Sony/Epic.
Interesting. I don't think any of the studio logs have leaked in the slightest outside a few Thriller/Bad-era tracksheets. Did they leak via a website or were they officially divulged?

Some of these were printed on booklets to compilations (such as Essential, KoP); others via Sony/Legacy server (now defunct) as supplement to barebone "nice price" reissues (w/o printed booklets).

I guess the server's where the Ghosts info came from.

Wondering how Skylark & MJ have teamed up working together on Dangerous sessions. 🤔

Both of them have contributed songs to Deniece Williams' 1988 album (I Can't Wait & We Are Here To Change The World). Did the former song caught Michael's attention and he's called him in or did somebody else introduce Skylark to MJ? Little do we know about their collaboration.
