Hey,

Watching the performances of "She's Out of My Life" in Tokyo, 1987, speaking about the first (September 12) and third (September 14), I noticed that Michael Jackson performed the song akin to the Triumph and Victory tours, without the presence of a girl on stage hugging him.

Anyone know in which concert he added the "hugging scene" ?

Opening night, September 12

September 14

The hugging scene is the worst part of any concert it's in. It's even worse when the girl pretends to be deranged and gets dragged off kicking.

I don't think I like any performance of this song that has the pretend crying or the "can I come down there?"

I never understood the pretend crying. It would just make me sad even tho I know it's fake.

I definitely cringe when he does that & on ill be there....I never saw the point & then all smiles when I want you back comes on.

The pretend crying by MJ always made me cringe but I had always thought the girls reactions were genuine?
Yes, the reactions from these girls were always genius.

In a specific HIStory concert (Vienna), a girl even fainted in his arms.

Girls generally can become really lunatic they are close to their idol (let alone when they touch/hug their idol).

Sources from his tour entourage revealed that Michael Jackson was thinking the plight of the suffering children from all over the world in order for him to achieve crying.

The "can I come down there?" phrase is said to have also sexual connotations.

huh because the song talks about a man wishing he hadn't take his girl for granted and now it's gone. that's why he pretends crying. makes sense to me.
no it's because like seeing Mike sad (even tho it's pretend) makes me sad. I guess it's just me personally. Seeing others down makes me feel sad as well

It's seems the Yokohama concert september 25 was the first to have the hugging scene. The last concert before, Bad Tour in Nishinomiya (September 21, 1987) doesn't seems to have it according to the audio recording

I thought it would be 'she's' but ok. you do you.
English is not the mother tongue for some of us here, mistakes can be made. How about pointing it out in a helpful way? Do you speak more than one language yourself?
