What do you think, when you see this tracklist? Don´t you think, that it would have been Michael´s best album, even if he had a chance to work on it a year more? Don´t you think History session was stronger than OTW, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous session? :D

01, Scream
02, They don´t care about us
03, Stranger in Moscow
04, Tabloid junkie
05, Earth song
06, Blood on the dance floor
07, Morphine
08, Superfly sister
09, You are not alone
10, Ghosts
11, Is it scary
12, 2 Bad
13, History
14, Childhood
15, On the line

i think its unfair to replace smile with on the line. Smile was kinda MJ's own tribute to one of his favorite person: Charlie Chaplin. And Smile a cheerful, slow upbeat song.

I for myself listen On the line more than Smile, but it isn´t topic qestion :)

I love how it begins with scream and ends with smile. It gives hope.
Michael with a 80 men(women?)big symphoniorchestra in the studio-I would love to see it.
B Swedien said Michael often changed the songs when they were doing the album, it would be interesting to know more about it.

If the tracklist was like that, then that would def be his best album.. IMO tho:)

History is History... there's nothing to do... I love this album... for me is the best!

I Love money , but i agree with changing D.S, Come together and this time around

I love History too, but in 1995 a lot of fans were disapointed, because it wasn´t in Michael´s clasic style (Bad, Dangrous). I think that´s because there was too many styles of music, including songs like Money, Little Susie and more, that wasn´t as progresive and strong as some fans or general public were expecting. I think that this album would sale more coppies than Bad or Dangerous, if it was released separately.

By the way, I´d love this album - a gift to fans as a satisfaction for the unfinished Dangerous session, including History outtakes too. Released in 1997 insteed if BOTDF :)

01, Bumper snippet kid
02, Monkey business
03, Work that body
04, If you don´t love me
05, Serious effect
06, Happy bitrhday Lisa
07, She got it
08, For all time
09, This time around
10, Money
11, What about us demo
12, DS
13, Come together
14, Little Susie
15, Smile

I would replace "Come Together" instead of "Smile." As someone mentioned earlier, "Smile" was a heartfelt tribute to Charlie Chaplin, a song which meant a lot to him personally. "Come Together," on the other hand, is just a standard Beatles tribute with no real feeling to it.

I wouldn't get rid of "D.S." or "Money" either. Both are very relevant tracks which deal with Michael's experience. I would get rid of "You Are Not Alone," even though I like the song.

I think HIStory is his best album, but if it had included some of the strong tracks from BOTDF, "Morphine," especially, it would have been even stronger. Adding "Ghosts," and "Is it Scary" would also have been a good idea.

I'd only remove Come Together as it is actually Bad era b-side track. Instead of it I'd put Morphine onto the album. (btw, Morphine is -as appeared on BOTDF- in its original 1994 finished version)

As Morphine is longer than CT I'd cut the 'Pie Jesu' intro of Little Susie to fit the playtime to standard cd specifications
01 Scream
02 TDCAU
03 SIM
04 TTA
05 ES
06 D.S.
07 Money
08 Morphine
09 YANA
10 Childhood
11 TJ
12 2 Bad
13 HIStory
14 LS
15 Smile

Well, my fav songs on HIStory album are:
1. Scream
2. They Don't Care About Us
3. Stranger In Moscow
4. You Are Not Alone
5. Childhood
6. Come Together/D.S.
7. Earth Song
8. HIStory
9. Smile
10. 2 Bad

I would put in "Money" instead of "Childhood" and "Little Susie" instead of "2 Bad" and "Smile" instead of "History" (but then the album title would not have been History probably, LOL).

Good argumentation - I go with you on this one. morphine fits the album, and we already new come together

In general I would say that there is NO WAY, with or without the tracklist changes you suggested, that the History sessions / album would be better than let´s say the Bad and / or Dangerous sessions - in MY opinion of course :)

The reason is simply that if you look at the material that was written during both Bad and Dangerous sessions (that we know of) it appears much stronger. Remember: Both They don´t Care About Us AND Earth Song were written and supposed to feature on the Dangerous album, and must therefore also be considered for the Dangerous session departement. So in my honest opinion the Bad and Dangerous album sessions were the strongest and most creative of his career. I love History, believe me - but I don´t think it´s as strong as the two previous albums.

I have never been a fan of these different albumlists, but I would prefer to extend the albums hehe :)
