They are reputation points, so if another user likes your post they can give you rep for it which then adds to your points. I just gave you positive reputation for this post so you should see it on your user CP. You can give other users positive reputation by clicking on the star in the grey bar at the bottom of posts and you can leave a comment of why you've given them positive or negative reputation points if you want to. So basically just keep posting and over time your points will build up!
