Something like “ dancing with the stars” ?

I was browsing tv channels and and came across this show. I immediately wondered if Michael was talented enough to dance with a partner in various styles.

We know he could do choreographed dancing as no other, he could mimick James Brown’s and Jackie Wilson’s moves to perfection, he could tap dance but mostly likely not on the level of Fred Astaire and others and he was pretty decent in some of those more modern pop/lock styled dancing.

Actually my favorite dancing Michael video is the Motown rehearsal in 1968 (?). To be able to dance like that at age 10 give or take is impressive. It was one big tribute to his heroes James Brown and Jackie Wilson. To go from there and then make your own style over the course of a decade incorporating even more elements into your dancing is quite revolutionary.

I think we have come at a point where Michael is not only remembered for being the author of the Thriller album and being a boyhood megastar but maybe even more for having created an entirely unique dance style. When they say nobody dances like Michael Jackson it is the absolute truth because it is his style, everybody who does this after him is just copying an already existing art form.

So apart from small snippets we have seen over decades of him dancing with a partner do we know if he had any interest in that kind of dancing or that he had practised it at some point in his life?

Talented enough if he wanted to learn, certainly. But based on the Blood On The Dance Floor video and some photos I seen from the making of, my guess would be that "he had no clue and no real interest for partner-dancing (like social dancing type of dances, which can be professionalised too)". Could be wrong though.

What are the other snippets you are referring to ? In The Closet ?

@Maxym

there’s some short partner dancing in the Jacksons variety show sketches but it is very brief.

Oh... I don't think that I will rewatch the whole shows just to find them ;-)
Nothing between the Jacksons show and BOTDF?
