I cant sleep :(

Its now before almost 48 hours since i last slept the last time i got a decent sleep was saturday night at ever since i woke up everything went down the hill , im finding it really hard to sleep as i have so much on my mind that i cant put it aside without something else popping up.

If feel like im gonna go mad at some point. lol

anyone got any good methods of how i can get some sleep its like 1:45am inthe morning i need 2 be up for 9:15am at the latest.

I dont have any herbal remendies or anything like it.
 
I like to keep a notebook at the side of my bed and if I can't sleep, I jot down every little thing that is bothering me, whether a big "meaning of life" question or a little to-do list item. This clears my head for the time being and allows me to think about it the next day instead.

Also sometimes I close my eyes and envision a blackboard and a desk. I have all the things on my mind written on the blackboard and I slowly erase each one. I also put visualized "items" from my life into the desk drawers, locking them out of sight.

Basically for both methods I'm just putting things "away" to deal with at a later date so I can focus on the task at hand of getting rest. I have had insomnia on and off through my life and these are just my mental exercises.
 
go to your doctor and talk to them about it. if they dont do anything go to another doctor. the lack of sleep will only worsen your symptoms
 
Perhaps some herbal tea & classical music would help? Works for me, hope you feel better soon.

since michael died i also can,t sleep anymore.........the best sleep i get is 4 to 5 hours and even then i wake up every hour...........
so please, go to your docter, like i do.

Ive had this problem for quite a while now, as i discussed in a previous topic My My Life Story, I Need Help I have blank visionary which means i cant picture anything in my mind ive tried writing things down but more things keep popping into my mind, so ppl say who can u think and not be able to vision it, I've been asking myself that questions for most of my list all i see is bitch black no matter what im thinknig about, When it comes to creativity, I just messed about until i find something i like i dont have any noted down or any ideas at all :(

Sorry to hear wat u r going though u need to go to ur drs asap,i have insomina had it for years but since this has happen no lieing i only get 2 hrs sleep and thats due inthe day and at the moment i am really sick,wldnt want to see anyone else getting really sick as it isnt good,plz plz go and see someone asap,im here if u need to pm feel free to xxx

Thank you, ive seen the doc about this and she seems to think my sleepin parten is fine but i dont think it is, I go to bed at maybe 1am and lye there until 3am before i fall asleep and wake up at 6:30am i dont see that is being normal, And once im awake i can fall back to sleep again. my minds always full of stuff
Im sorry to hear that your not doing to well i hope you recover soon

um i know u said u cant right anything down wat about recording things like wat time u do finally go asleep then wat time u wake up,wats on ur mind etc then u might see a pattern hun,ah i wldnt trust many drs hun u can trust me with that been messed around with drs and that for a long long time,u know when there is a problem as u know ur body,it doesnt have to be insomia could be ur sleeping pattern is out of wack which might be down to stress or health problems,thats all i can think u can do,i mean wat i say though if u need anyone to talk to i am always up and hear normally if not u can email me anytime,can i ask how old u r? x
 
for me when i have my really bad nights of not getting to sleep cause my mind wont stop.. i try to read. not sure if you have tried that, i know for some it instantly makes them sleep depending on the book. i have to read everynight to relax before i can sleep. its my way of closing the daily problems off for awhile then i can sleep. hope that helps:)
 
I have trouble sleeping. I go to bed I dream of Michael every day is something different but he is always in my dreams and they are very vivid. I think I am avoiding sleep because im scared. Sometimes I dont want to wake up..
When I wake up I feel void and empty.

for me when i have my really bad nights of not getting to sleep cause my mind wont stop.. i try to read. not sure if you have tried that, i know for some it instantly makes them sleep depending on the book. i have to read everynight to relax before i can sleep. its my way of closing the daily problems off for awhile then i can sleep. hope that helps:)

i get bored after reading for to long and the book im reading at the moment would keep me up all night. As its one of they books you dont want to put down.

This morning i went to bed at 4am and the post man woke me up at 10:55am so i got aleast 7 hours sleep.

I just need to go to bed much earlier and hopefully i should be make to normal, think because i stay up so late and because i was so tired the only thing i could about was getting some sleep.
 
having problems sleeping repeatedly is one of the signs of depression. if you fall into that, talk to a doctor and maybe they can provide some relief
 
I have problems sleeping too.

I am sleeping per night with luck 4 hours.Theworst of all this,is that i went to myfamily doctor and shegaveme a medicin that in my view is not helping,because i only fall asleep when it is almost time to get up.
It's like this since Michael died...I wonder when will i havea good night sleep.
Just the idea thati have to sleep...what a torture
 
getting a decent sleep is vital to healthy living. if you go to a doctor and dont get the help you need go to another doctor because the longer the lack of sleep continues, the more problems will continue.

jeez sounds like you need a new doc. you may try turning down the lights and taking a hot bath with soft music, this should relax you . good luck...:)
