I fixed Invincible album credits. Now they are authentic

I mean, the issue isn’t that the album is mostly songs from other writers. Off the Wall and Thriller were mostly written by other people. The issue is the sequencing and the quality of the chosen material.
The issue is EXACTLY that these songs from other writers!

If MJ wrote about 10 songs on this album, I would say a word!

But he wrote only FIVE SONGS!

That's ridiculous for a man, who few years ago released masterpiece called HISTORY, where each song HAS SOMETHING to do with his life episode!

Accepting songs from others when you're in your early 20s and less experienced isn't the same as when you're in your 40s and should be more experienced. MJ did the best he could on Off the Wall and Thriller, but not on Invincible.

As far as quality goes, "Whatever Happens" was as good of a commissioned song as they come. That doesn't make up for the fact MJ didn't write or produce it, though. It sounds really good, but at the end of the day, it doesn't feel genuine. And this isn't hindsight bias, at least not completely, because Santana's presence and the fact it's Latin were dead giveaways that MJ only agreed to do this song for an easy hit single.

The biggest issue with Invincible is that not only are most of the songs not very good, but most of them don't feel personal enough. There's nothing as haunting as "Who Is It" and "Stranger in Moscow", or as resounding as "Leave Me Alone" and "Earth Song". No amount of improved sequencing would fix this. This isn't to say there's a direct link between MJ having more input and the quality of the music, though. He wrote and produced "Speechless" and "The Lost Children" by himself, but those songs are too cheesy (and I could do without "The Lost Children" entirely). Invincible needed songs that not only felt authentic, but weren't sappy.

I know the demo for "Days in Gloucestershire" was recorded in 2004, so I guess MJ couldn't have made a song like that during 1998-2001, but it had the potential to be the greatest MJ song of the 2000s.

There is a few of you on this forum who are absolutely obsessed with Invincible to the point where an argument could be made that you are in love with the album and potentially, maybe, perhaps, one day will marry the album and have little baby Invincible’s running around.

I gave Invincible crap for a more than a few years, but have come to appreciate the fact that we even got another album from MJ at that point of his life.

My bugbears with Invincible; Track sequencing, the instrumental mixes, the mastering and the omission of a handful of stronger tracks.

But, it is what it is. I enjoy it as an album now.

"Days in Gloucestershire" is the type of song Invincible needed.
The Lost Children is BEST song on Invincible and probably one of the greatest songs Michael have ever wrote! This song had a potential to be the greatest hit. You Rock My World really sucks comparing with the masterpiece called The Lost Children

And it is PERSONAL! The only reason why I still didn't delete Invincible album from my music, just because it has such a beautiful song!

I will admit that "The Lost Children" might be clever given the sample of the Twilight Zone episode "Kick the Can". Apparently, the song isn't only about children who are literally missing in the world, but it's also about adults who lost the youthful innocence of childhood. The true "lost children" are all the adults who lost their purity.

Or so they say, anyways. I remember on this board and MaxJax, people were arguing about the true meaning of the song. I don't think MJ ever said it was about anything but literally missing children.

"Unbreakable" is a poor man's "This Time Around".
"Heartbreaker" is a poor man's "She Drives Me Wild".
"Invincible" is a poor man's "Can't Let Her Get Away".
"You Rock My World" is a poor man's "Rock with You".
"Cry" is a poor man's "Man in the Mirror".
"Privacy" is a poor man's "Leave Me Alone".
"Don't Walk Away" is a poor man's "She's Out of My Life".
"You Are My Life" is a poor man's "You Are Not Alone".
"The Lost Children" is a poor man's "Heal the World".
"Threatened" is a poor man's "Thriller".

Correct. Everything else is bullshit!

SIOOML is trash. DWA is better. Though both tracks have nothing to do with MJ (he didn't write them). So from MJ perspective both trash. But If I had to pick one, I would choose DWA
