Broski, this whole verse has nothing to do with what you just mentioned.The "that cold winter night" line refers to the day in his Neverland Ranch (on December 20th, 1993) when he stood naked in order detectives and police officers to take photos of his genitals.

Sure, you can say that the one line has a deeper meaning and goes back to 1993, but the next two lines contradict that. There's no denying that this was an error, the writer, made in the lyrics. Thinking it was Winter instead of Summer. It doesn't mean anything else.
