for some reason I’m only seeing it now. I’ll answer later on. can I add the ‘don’t stop til you get enough’ video to be rated?
save for ‘Cinderella stay awhile’ and ‘we’re almost there’. this was a young man. why did he sound so old? 
I also enjoy ‘I can’t help it’.. while I appreciate the more upbeat nature of the material this time, I find it to be lacking lyrical substance, and to be musically dark and heavy 
there are some songs that are just too average for thee michael jackson.
in my book. what more do I need? those fore mentioned songs are all eclectic and intriguing in their own way. yet still catchy, accessible, and memorable. that’s the pop, which is not easy to pull off. it’s also something that michael would become the king of as a result of this album.
this time it’s of mass synchronised kind. michael was secure in his individuality in a seedy world governed by toxic masculinity. he was the only male that didn’t need to follow the crowd and act macho to be cool. his fashion game took a major step up into the iconic realm, with the red zipper jacket and the white socks/loafers combo, which would become a trademark in itself. the theme of unity prevailed once again.
