Michael as you know suffered more than most at the hands of the press and still continues to do so. After the press were found guilty of tapping innocent peoples phones, including a missing childs mobile (since been found murdered) our government set up an enquiry led by lord justice Leveson who's findings led him to order the the law be changed into press hounding.

our government is now backtracking on the assurances he made at the beginning of this inquiry and looks like nothing is going to change, please sign the petition below for all the innocent victims including our poor Michael and soon to be his children im sure.

Just to point out, leveson doesn't propose extending defamation laws to the dead. He did look at the issue but thought it too difficult to implement or something.

Can a UK person explain this situation in depth. What exactly was promised and what steps were made to have this done at the official level? Did other elected officials get involved? Is there a campaign in the UK that supports this.

People need to focus on online magazines and give these bad newspapers fewer hits and purchases. Maybe that will make them clean up their act?
