For those who don't know the story: in 2023, New York-based Michael Jackson impersonator Jordan Neely was acting erratic on a train and was put into a chokehold by Daniel Penny which resulted in Neely's death at age 30.
Penny was put onto trial and was acquitted of manslaughter.

I'm disappointed in this verdict. Penny kept Neely in a chokehold for too long to be called "defending and protecting the subway riders". I'm sure Penny didn't mean to kill Neely but he overacted in restraining Neely and it proved to be fatal.

Daniel Penny found not guilty in chokehold death of Jordan Neely
The jury acquitted Penny of criminally negligent homicide after previously deadlocking on the more serious charge of manslaughter.
