There have been discussions in the main biopic thread about what a sequel to Michael might look like, particularly given that the Chandler NDA caused the producers of Michael to make changes to the movie.

So just for fun, how would you approach it if you were the director? When would you start and end the movie? How would you structure the movie? What performances should be included? How would you overcome the Chandler NDA problem?

I'd have the film start with a live performance of Man in the Mirror - continuity from the first film.

Then, a brief montage/retrospective of what's happened to date in his life.

Then, after escaping a group of crazed fans he dances with a bunny rabbit on the side of the road...

This thing is writing itself.

Maybe the first half of the film is a flashback of Bad + Dangerous + HIStory

Second half runs through the 2005 court case - Michael wins but is clearly beaten

The film then shows him raising his children before getting more offers to secure financial stability after the trial

Maybe the film ends as Michael agrees to return to the stage (I presume AEG would stop a negative depiction of This is It?)

So many people will fight to not be in this one so it will be very difficult again to cover every single element. I can imagine it getting the same criticism of part one in that nothing lingers too long.

I feel like they want to use 1992 MITM. It was the first photo released so they must be proud of that scene.

If the creation process of HIStory, including the motives, is well explained, then the damned Chandlers can safely be forgotten.
Of course, the big hits like Man in the Mirror, Black or White, Heal the World and Earth Song have to be included, and especially since Bad, his themes have shifted much more towards humanity and the environment. The acquittal in 2005 would be a fitting happy ending.

Perhaps Geraldine Hughes, who worked as a secretary for Evan "Ivan" Chandler's lawyer, could appear.

Just thinking about performances, I imagine a recreation of the I'll Be There Pepsi commercial would work well given the subject matter.

I wonder if given the nature of what needs to be covered, they get the crew together to make something other than a movie. Like a massive Netflix series.

The second movie would open on Another Part Of Me performance. The tone is set : this movie will show something else than the 1st movie, will be darker.

There would be the following events :
- the media turning against MJ
- the music industry turning against MJ ( the grammy awards disappointment in 1988, the critics bashing Bad)
- Neverland property, many children invited to stay
- his charity work, heal the World fundation
- Lisa Marie
- the MTV ban because of TDCAU
- the 1995 HBO collapsing
- the 1999 Munich fall from the crane ( end of the movie)

The third movie would be about :
- 9/11
- the Invincible failure
- the Arvizo era (2003-2005)
- This Is It
- his death
- Michael is remembered ( Man In the mirror performance )

I read that Michael had notes in his bedroom in Holmes hills „I hate John branca.“

4th movie
John B. forges the last will and testament with the help of Michael Jacobshagen
John B. buys the fake songs of the Cascio brothers
John B. pays the Cascios hush money
John B. is pocketing the estate's money

Ending: All lying accusers get locked up.
They could at the very least show Janet Arvizo doing community service for committing welfare fraud:

The mother of the boy who accused pop star Michael Jackson of child abuse has pleaded no contest to welfare fraud. Janet Arvizo, 38, had been accused of illegally claiming thousands of dollars in assistance and committing perjury. The Los Angeles resident was ordered to perform 150 hours of community service and repay more than $8,600 (£4,500).
