"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I will rather wait a year or two longer and have a great film or maybe even two great films - than getting a bad film this year.

I just hope it will be worth the wait. I am looking forward to seeing the film(s).

Haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but this seems to be the general sentiment with all the delays :

I've listened to the first 40 mins. Can't say it's put me in a good mood. The complete opposite, actually. It's reminded me of just how much I really dislike MJE - I usually try to tune that stuff out and not focus on their incompetence / disdain bc it doesn't solve anything. But, good god, they really are the pits. It hits me like a thunderbolt every single time. 😠

The full transcript isn't really that ambigous at all.
If you put the 2 possible scenarios in this case against the recording, or even the full transcript, it really fits only one agenda and therefore only one of the scenarios:
It was a setup.

If it was the other way around Chandler wouldn’t have said some of the things he said.
And the potential is very high that he would have said other things, that he in fact didn’t say. Neither in the recording, nor in the transcript.

I hate to be that guy but to me the Chandler recordings are very ambigious and only prove Evan was a very angry father
Because you never read the full transcripts and clearly don't understand all the facts and evidence. The full transcripts make it even clearer that he was a violent nutjob and that his true issue with Michael was that he stopped calling and talking to him (meaning Michael didn't make himself available to him so he could exploit him) Not that he genuinely believed his son was harmed.

And how does he sound like a father? He said clearly that it was "irrelevant" to him if what he planned to do helped Jordan or not.

These kinds of comments from so called "fans" on this forum piss me off, because it's clear there are ulterior motives for spreading this kind of rhetoric.

Furthermore a lot of people misunderstand what extortion is. You don't have to demand money in literal words for it to be extortion. There doesn't even have to be money involved at all. It can be a demand for time, for business opportunities, or for property. It can also be for a certain action, think of Blake Lively recently being exposed for trying to extort Taylor swift into publicly supporting her.

In California, extortion, also known as blackmail, is defined under Penal Code 518 as the act of obtaining property or an official act from another person through the use of force, threats, or fear.

So yes that tape of Evan does indeed show his intent to commit extortion against Michael.

If you threaten to harm someone in anyway, including financially ("he won't sell one more record") unless they give you what you demand ("if I don't get what I want").

THAT IS TEXTBOOK EXTORTION.

We all know Evan was talking about money and a movie deal for himself. And he did go on to extort Michael after that recording was made.

He demanded 20 million from Michael at a meeting on
August 4,1993 or he would have Jordan accuse him of molestation.

The freaking chandlers admitted to this in their own book!!!

I wonder if they plan to show the 2005 trial (since there is a rumor they can't use the 93' case)... if it happens to be two movies and they don't show anything past '93, it would be weird.

I apologize, my message was a bit blunt.. It was about using the tapes in the biopic. I feel some people have high hopes that bringing the tapes in the movie clears everything. But to me the tapes are only convincing whith a lot of extra context in a movie, even the full transcript

I am not a so called 'fan' btw Kelley, I was actually one of the few defending MJ on national television during the '93 allegations and can easily say I have read, see and listen everything there is to read on the subject since that time extensively and there is not a bone in my body that believes any of it

Who actually plays the Cashio brothers and Jason Malaria? These legendary recordings of a human goat took place during his lifetime, if I remember correctly.
It was the time when everbody was watching the news of Michael Jackson

Without sounding too negative, do we really need red carpet of Motown 25 scenes to be filmed?

This was one of my fears , unnecessary expanding the film to include pointless shots/scenes just to beef out the movie and split it into two.

I could be completely wrong of course ☺️

for we know they will be used for seconds-long establishing shots, relax
