"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Have you seen Michael's unofficial ones??? They are trash.
That's neither here nor there. It doesn't affect anything. Unofficial biopics are more trustworthy, that's why they are the standard.

But the estate did make it.
That's my point.

Apparently they stop in 1988. So no integrity has been taken away
But his life and his career didn't end in 1988. Half a documentary automatically loses 90% of its value.

Maybe you just wait until you've seen the movie, before shitting on it.
To be very clear - I'm neutral on the movie. I'm not saying it's good. I'm not saying it's bad. I don't know anything about the quality of the acting or writing or camerawork. Furthermore, I don't care. It doesn't matter to me whether it's good, or whether it's successful or whether it's unsuccessful.

Again, that's a fundamental misunderstanding people on this site seem to have. Everybody's too keen to assume people are shitting on the movie and they're a hater, just because they're not jumping up and down and salivating all over their screen.

Anyone who fails to "fundamentally misunderstand" the importance of the box office and the reason why it's been a constant topic of discussion in here isn't very bright.
It's not like I don't understand that making money is important for the people who made the movie. Totally unimportant for members of the public though.

And what's even harder to understand is when it's blind guessing based on absolutely no information whatsoever.

I asked before: do you get excited about sales figures for the new flavour of Pepsi? Do you get excited about profit margins for a company making leather jackets?

Serious question.

Why are you being so pesimistic about the movie? Let the others be excited on seeing the movie when it releases.
Again - not. I'm very dismissive of people who waste their time being obsessed about box office numbers.

ypu never know we might get a part 2
I'm not gonna judge this movie because I've not seen it. It's even more absurd for me to judge a movie that may never get made.

Let's judge what's been put in front of us. It's either good or not. This movie doesn't get a pass because of some vague Tweet mumbling about "the sequel is gonna be great".

If that comes later we can judge it then. But for now, let's judge this movie as a standalone.

I'm only interested in hearing the reviews from other fans, that's how I'll know if the movie is good or not.
I have doubts about that.

Seems like for some people, if it says Michael is a hero, then it's a good movie, and if not, then it's a bad movie.

But that's not how it works.

I disagree... I consider showing the crowd, their reactions, emotions, facial expressions etc. an essential part in showcasing how people perceived Michael's performance.
For me, Bucharest had too many unnecessary crowd shots. Lots of sports coverage does this so much that you sometimes miss the action, lol. It's just modern YouTube bullshit.

Again, this is a biopic. It's supposed to help people understand Michael, his character, his relationships, etc. It's not about pretending you're at a concert. And this movie should not just be 2 hours of "he's a living god, look how much everybody loved him!!"

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the film is apparently tracking at a $55-$60 million domestic opening.
Can we just not? It's a random guess, it means nothing and is unimportant.

Let's wait and then we will KNOW how much money it made.

Those who are more so looking for reviews from fans. This is what to expect.. The die hard, that studied MJs life and many "lifers" will have a hard time with creative liberties taken the same way Queen fans had issues with Bohemian Rhapsody. >>> I'm saying this now because if you're able to let go of it, you'll be happier.

If your hope is for the masses to see Michael's heart, personality, and a look at who the man was - you'll be happy to know they'll see "him" for the first time closer to how we have.

I truly believe that Michael will generally be seen in a more positive light, and that is the key take away.

The thought of them not existing in the movie is just funny. I hope they at least appear in the backround.
