"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Didn’t Elvis get some sort of extended cut?

For all the noise on social media the commercials for that film didn’t actually turn out that great.

If they genuinely think 2 movies is a shot at 2 billion, they must be really really confident in what they have. And that excites the hell out of me.
 
Behind the scenes images has been spotted showcasing Jafaar as Michael, it depicts him in the Off the Wall era, various Thriller era events, the Bad photo shoot and the Jam performance at Bucharest 1992. So everything from birth to Dangerous is already shown to be in the film. People who think it will be two parts are delusional since there's 30 songs in the movie and not enough material from History to death to warrant another movie.

There is much more material for the second movie than for the first one: Chandlers, 2 marriages, kids, health issues, Bashir, Arvizos, trial, hiatus, This Is It, death.

What?? I'm trying to see a point in your post, but I'm failing to do so. Where has it been mentioned that in case of two movies all or most of the 30 songs would be played in the first movie??

Exactly!! All of this. Deal with the allegations properly in the 2nd movie and all is good. Of course there is plenty of space for Dangerous, HIStory and Invincible too, some of which can be tied to the media frenzy around the alegations too (Scream, Privacy, Tabloid Junkie, ...).

Exactly!! All of this. Deal with the allegations properly in the 2nd movie and all is good. Of course there is plenty of space for Dangerous, HIStory and Invincible too, some of which can be tied to the media frenzy around the alegations too (Scream, Privacy, Tabloid Junkie, ...).

They already shot the 1993 allegations and Dangerous. The point is we know they are covering everything up to his death according to the director but contradictory reports claim it's two parts. However scenes have already been shot about the Neverland raids and strip searches in 1993-1994, remember? We saw pictures of this last year when they also restored Neverland. So a part two would only cover History, Invincible, This is It.

I'm saying since they have in fact shot scenes for the Dangerous period, that will be in the movie. We have not yet seen scenes from the History era, but there's not enough material strictly from the period of 1996-2009 to have another two 1/2 hour movie and 15 more songs if everything from Off the Wall - Dangerous is covered already

I genuinely don't think there's enough content after 1994 to warrant a 3 hour part II movie unless it gets really personal
  1. 1995 - Marriage to Lisa Marie Presley
  2. 1996 - Filming of You are Not Alone / Scream videos (2 songs)
  3. 1996 - The Earth Song music video (1 song)
  4. 1996 - They Don't Care About Us video in Brazil (1 song)
  5. 1996-97 - Concert at Munich during the History World Tour
  6. 1997 - Drug problems showcased with Morphine from Blood on the Dance Floor (1 song)
  7. Late 90s - Birth of his children obviously has to be showcased, maybe using You are my Life from Invincible (1 song)
  8. 1999 - Maybe the MJ and Friends concert in 1999 where he fucked up his back
  9. 2000-01 - 30th Anniversary concert with the Jackson 5 maybe a performance of You rock my World (1 song)
  10. 2002-03 - Compilation of media headlines from the tabloids after the Bashir interview using Tabloid Junkie (1 song)
  11. 2005 - Vindication during the 2005 trial
  12. 2006-08 - Montage

But this is still only 8-12 songs, they are claiming to have over 30 songs in the movie (or 15+ songs per film). Where would the other songs come from?

If they re-edit it into two movies, which they’ll probably do & announce sooner or later, how do you want to know where the first part will end?
The second part could also focus more on the non-music part of MJs life, which would, as it sadly turned out, represent the reality.

How many songs do young count from OTW to Dangerous?

ABC, Beat It, Billie Jean, Thriller, Man in the Mirror, TWYMMF, Heartbreak Hotel and Bad are the only confirmed films so far along with Rock with You and DSTYGE due to the OTW album cover. Smooth Criminal will be there too by default due to the Bad album and so will Jam and Black or White and Heal the World since 1993-94 is already filmed

Everything is already filmed.
They simply have enough material to split into two. Not withstanding some pick up - & re-shooting, but they have the bulk of their material. So they simply split & edit it into two parts.
You don’t know if they filmed his life until 94, 01, 05, or 09, but they have enough material.
And seemingly great material, if you go by the things Campea is hearing from insiders.

Man I watch Campea eversince he started his solo channel & even before when he was on collider. And he is not a guilter!
I never saw him say anything which I consider a sign of him being a guilter.

He only stated that an MJ project is always a problematic thing, because there is one side (those who believe the accusers) & there are the fans on the other side. So there is always debate & friction which is true..

I have the impression, that Campea & the family from his wife’s side (Ann & Ray) are genuinely excited & love MJ & his art.

Do you watch him regularly to call him a guilter?

Not sure about some of these songs. I think most will be the standard fare. However Man in The Mirror will surely be in it perhaps at the end.

No. They should include it in the middle of the movie. And if it isn't the Grammy Awards live version with his raw voice, it will be a waisted oportunity and a sin!!

I'd choose Music And Me as the ending song... with a video montage of real Michael in all years... would be really touchy and the general audience will not know the song either.

I say this from seeing multiple occasions over the years of this type of thing happening when waiting for MJ projects.... I hope with all the speculation, personal ideas & hopes, expectations, and reason for supporting the film - there is still room to allow the film be what it is, and not be overly disappointed when it strays from what may have been hoped for.

Reading the thread, while there's been many great ideas shared. Lets just remember to not build hopes for it to be what is dreamt about.

Honestly as long as the cinematography is good and the acting sells it, they can do whatever really. Worrying about it it's ambitious enough is their job, not ours.
