"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I’m actually getting a little bit bored now of the teasers as it’s mostly made up of the same scenes extended and with different camera angles. I don’t want to see another shot of Motown 25 or the Beat it rehearsal.

The new stuff I do love is the stuff like the basketball or swimming pool scene.

I’m at the stage that I’m just being impatient as I know they won’t want to spoil anything. Roll on the 22nd or whatever day it is 😆

april final straight line for the promotion

It does matter to me because I support Michael and this movie has been officially sanctioned by his estate so I want it to do well at the box office.
Meh. Michael is dead, he didn't sanction this. It's just a bunch of lawyers had a good idea to enrich their bank balance.

like any other offering from the estate (even if it’s crap) . The immortal world tour , MJ The musical , the Las Vegas cirque show etc I want it to sell well and be appreciated by its audience.
Even the stuff while he was alive, I wasn't desperate for it to be successful. It doesn't matter. If I like something, I listen to it. My opinion of the quality doesn't go up just because other people like it.

To answer your question, yes I will be disappointed if it makes less.
I'm just really struggling to understand this. Especially when the comparison is to something arbitrary and unrelated like Hail Mary?!

I remember the sweet tribute that Buckethead made on his website to MJ in 2009 with that song 🥲
He even had an album called Captain EO's Voyage.

Kind of a shame that the biopic didn't include the 1993 and 2003 allegations(I heard somewhere that they had filmed that section), might have made the biopic a bit more interesting
Exactly. It's a shame they were too afraid to cover all aspects of his life. Seems like they just want to pick and choose the most convenient and most marketable parts of his life. And those aren't the ingredients of a good biopic.

I was expecting the soundtrack to be something of this aura but it's the same old classic tracks released again & again & again
By design. The whole point of the movie is to make members of the public buy Thriller.

We should think ourselves lucky they didn't try to force an unreleased track in as a shallow purchase incentive.

Agreed.

And yet still if the movie doesn't break the record, some people will complain there wasn't enough promotion, lol.

You have to think too the clips in the teasers won't all be in the film. Remember This is It and MJ sat on the ramp? That never made it into the film + I remember fans being upset lol
