"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I wonder if this scene is one of the reshoots, taking it from 92 to 88 as opposed to scrapping it altogether. I'll be keeping my eyes out for any quick cuts featuring a red trim collar!

I certainly hope so! If they want the first movie to be as strong as possible MITM has to be included in some form.

It would be easy enough to change it to a Bad tour performance and then incorporate real MJ footage at the end possibly from Moonwalker or an upscaled Wembley version.

The idea of the film ending with Bad to me, just doesn’t feel like a feel good factor send off. If we got a fully fledged MJ doing Bad at the start that would be one hell of an opening.

Or if it is at the end, give us Bad and then MITM

One thing going against this is the soundtrack, as it would appear to be chronological, but maybe not. Starting with Bad would actually be great and unexpected.

One thing I've noticed is how light Jaafar's skin is here compared to what we're seeing now. I know we'll never see it but I would absolutely love to know what the 'original' film was.

The original screenplay or script will absolutely leak eventually, so one day we will read what it was supposed to be.

I was honestly shocked they were going to go in on '93 as I bever believed they would, but to see it take such a left turn is very disappointing.

There will always be a "what if" over this film.

That’s my worry.

It does look like it is in chronological order.

The fact that MITM is missing is either purposely done to avoid spoiling the end or it simply won’t be in the film.

A real in your face prime MJ doing Bad would be a great opening and then we go back to Gary and the story begins.

That rumoured script of the film opening with the Neverland raid and MJ being stripped searched would have been gritty and quite shocking. I think we are 100% getting a tame movie in comparison
I think so too. But at the same time I'm not sure how successful that first draft of the film would've been. They were definitely planning a very brave move.

I don't see the point of starting with the Bad tour... It would be like starting with a highlight... It would make more sense to keep a highlight for the end or towards the end.

There's leaked photos of a line of police cars at Neverland during the filming of the biopic.. Of course portions filmed before it was split into 2 parts.

But that's often how it's done. They show you the peak of the story (for just some seconds) to get you excited and then they show you how it all started an developed. Also it's great to emphasize the contrast between "Michael the solo superstar" and "Michael the little boy with big dreams".

If we’re following Bohemian Rhapsody, that film opens with Queen’s finest moment . Live Aid and then goes back to the start.

I think we will get the same with Michael.
I really hope they can go in different directions than Bohemian. I think that movie just followed basic "artist's wikipedia" way of telling a story.

With Antoine Fuqua (director) and John Logan (writer), I am expecting something much richer in terms of storytelling. They have great movies in their career (Training Day, Aviator, Gladiator).

But then again, Bohemian made a lot of success and unfortunately, that's what matters the most for the producers and MJ's Estate. =/

The Jennifer Hudson show with the cast of 'Michael' will air April 22nd. Nia long wont be on the episode as planned but the rest will be.
Apparently young Michael won the audience over and Jaafar was very professional (no surprises there)

I wonder what else they will do? I'm hoping it now ramps up past social media minute long montages.
