I don't think I've ever seen a positive post from you. The fact you've used the term hagiography is rather telling as well.Even without the anti-MJ bias some reviewers have, and their (defensible?) opinion that the movie would have been better had it been something other than a hagiography, the writing was on the wall that this wouldn't be a good film. Half of it had to be reshot mid-production, and it was obvious the template chosen by the studio/Estate was the commercially-successful but artistically-dreadful Queen biopic.
I don't think this sounds very plausible. What if Frank Cascio is behind all this? Everyone remembers how that idiot tried to blackmail the Estate with a lawsuit, right? What if he’s the one who paid off critics to intentionally tank the movie's ratings
Now 33%The rating keeps improving. It is now 32%. This is a positive trend. I wonder what the final will be?
Like you, I do think this film may very well just be a playlist of highlights (as one fan called it) that's pretty thin on storytelling. It's one of the reasons why I am not particularly excited about it. But that applies to basically every music biopic. The early (non-fan) reactions suggested this is a solid, well-made entry in that genre. Not all reviews are giving a bad review because it doesnt include allegations - lets not kid ourselves. There are many which call the film hollow and basically just an advert for Michael Jackson so this cant be completely painted as "hater journalists never gave it a chance." I have not been too shy to say that I wasn't particularly looking forward to this movie because it seemed like a puff piece from the adverts, but I am very disappointed with just how bad the reviews are. I hoped better for his sake. Helpfully it will resonate with the public, thats all that matters.
Tomorrow I'll see the film and will have forgotten all the reviews so I can see for myself. I hope to enjoy it.
Have you actually seen the movie? If not, then you should reserve judgement until you do (if you plan to).Even without the anti-MJ bias some reviewers have, and their (defensible?) opinion that the movie would have been better had it been something other than a hagiography, the writing was on the wall that this wouldn't be a good film. Half of it had to be reshot mid-production, and it was obvious the template chosen by the studio/Estate was the commercially-successful but artistically-dreadful Queen biopic.
It's good that the score went up, but it's still sad because the critic's rating won't be able to top 50% now. Those idiots dropped such low scores that it's physically impossible for the average to become "fresh" anymoreI don't think this sounds very plausible.
Now 33%
Oh really the øy dont have the allegations in?! Dang thats really sad. Well maybe its gonna come in the part two?Michael Jackson's movie has one of the lowest review scores of all time for a blockbuster, and after reading the reviews every single one without fail prominently highlighted how angry they were that the sexual abuse allegations were not included prominently
I reserve my positive posts for quality releases, like when the Estate released the Xscape album, or the TII documentary. Those were great and I said so.I don't think I've ever seen a positive post from you. The fact you've used the term hagiography is rather telling as well.
Has anybody ever told you to "Bug Off"? Just Wondering.I reserve my positive posts for quality releases, like when the Estate released the Xscape album, or the TII documentary. Those were great and I said so.
When faced with crap product, my posts tend to be more negative.
Just WBSS and Bad.1.Which song is performed on Bad Tour?
2. Do we see the Bad Tour scenes from the trailer?
Who cares honestly? Who are these people that their opinions matter so much? These are a bunch of "Leaving Neverland" fans.Michael Jackson's movie has one of the lowest review scores of all time for a blockbuster, and after reading the reviews every single one without fail prominently highlighted how angry they were that the sexual abuse allegations were not included prominently
Life is to short ,just ignore them, all they do is rehash old rubbish they have nothing new to say, very unprofessional journalism to read it is to feed itThis movie is for the fans and casual listeners of MJ's music. This isn't for critics.
They aren't reviewing the actual movie. They are just writing hit pieces because they hate MJ.
Don't let them ruin this for us. That's what they want. They bashed "MJ The Musical" too and yet it turned out to be successful. They want the film to fail so they are going to the extreme. They look stupid and biased.
They are desperate for it to flop. It's obvious.
How can they be taken seriously?
no? only badJust WBSS and Bad.
