Wars affect the whole world.
What were Michaels thoughts about war and peace?
Let's listen to his songs, let's collect.
I'll start with Be Not Always:

Mothers cry, babies die
Helplessly in arms
While rockets fly

And research lies
In progress to become
But what of men
Of flesh and blood
We turn our backs on life
How can we claim to stand for peace
When the races are in strife
Destroying life

I think, that the songs "Why you wanna trip on me" or "Tabloid junkie" are more relevent, in relation to russian president and russian people. Everybody. including mass media keep telling, that russian people are evil, as if they are the ones, who started the war.... But that's not true at all...They were slandered... Cutted from other world... Just because they are russian. That's not fair

Michael in Shout:
Problems, complications and accusations
Dividing the nations and races of empty faces
A war is taking place, no substitution for restitution
The only solution for peace is increasing the height of your spirituality

Michael in Man of War:
Just because your army gives you strength, gives you might
Truth is gonna win, wrong will never conquer right
Every man has the right to think and be free
You're like a spoiled brat, you want everything, you see

Man of war, don't go to war no more
Why don't you, why don't you study peace?
Man of war, don't go to war no more
Study peace 'cause peace is what we need

You think your bombs guns, and planes make you a big man
When you attack and invade on another man's land
Tryin' to make him be what you want him be
Make him do what you want him to
Make him say what you want him to say
It wasn't meant to be that way

How many victims must there be?
Slaughtered in vain across the land
And how many struggles must there be?
Before we choose to live the prophet’s plan

[…]

How many people have to cry?
The song of pain and grief across the land
And how many children have to die?
Before we stand to lend a healing hand

[…]

How many victims must there be?
Slaughtered in vain across the land
And how many children must we see?
Before we learn to live as brothers
And leave one family

and when that flag blows there'll be no more wars

Michael Jackson, “Cry” (2001)

create a world with no fear
together we cry happy tears
see the nations turn their swords into plowshares

Michael Jackson, “Heal the World” (1991)

Swords to ploughshares (or plowshares) is a concept in which military weapons or technologies are converted for peaceful civilian applications.

It's an incredibly powerful idea and I love that Michael included it in his HtW lyrics.

It's in the Hebrew scriptures. Book of Isaiah, IIRC. I love the way Michael was completely open about his faith and his beliefs but he wasn't dogmatic about it.

Isn't this sort of behaviour towards other members not allowed regardless of script and language? I don't think it's even ridiculous enough to ignore. @Hiker could you please have a look?

Thanks, I will cleanup the non-Michael related posts.
Folks, forum is not a place for political discussions. Please keep the discussions relevant to Michael. Thanks.

I knew I could count on you to keep it in order. I'm glad I (and other users) can come here and enjoy MJ's legacy in peace.

From 'Can You Feel It'

"All the children of the world should be
Loving each other wholeheartedly
Yes, it's all right
Take my message to your brother and tell him twice
Tell the news to the marching men
Who are killing their brothers, when death won't do
Yes, we're all the same
Yes, the blood inside my veins is inside of you
Now tell me ..."

Thank you very much) That's just what we all needed)

You’re saluting the flag, your country trusts you
Now you’re wearing a badge, you’re called the “Just Few”
And you’re fighting the wars, a soldier must do
I’ll never betray or deceive you my friend, but

If you show me the cash, then I will take it
If you tell me to cry, then I will fake it
If you give me a hand, then I will shake it
You would do anything for money

[…]

Want your pot of gold? Need the Midas touch?
Bet you sell your soul, ’cause your God is such
You don’t care, you kill for the money
Do or dare, the thrill for the money
Are you infected with the same disease of lust, gluttony and greed?
Then watch the ones with the biggest smiles
The idle jabbers
’Cause they’re the backstabbers

If you know it’s a lie, then you will swear it
If you give it with guilt, then you will bear it
If it’s taking a chance, then you will dare it
You would do anything for money
Michael Jackson, “Money” (1995)

Nation to nation, all the world must come together
Face the problems that we see then maybe somehow we can work it out
I asked my neighbor for a favor, she said later
“What has come of all the people, have we lost love of what it’s about?”
I have to find my peace cause no one seems to let me be
False prophets cry of doom, what are the possibilities?
I told my brother there’ll be problems, times and tears for fears
But we must live each day like it’s the last

[…]

The world keeps changing, rearranging minds and thoughts
Predictions fly of doom, the baby boom has come of age, we’ll work it out
I told my brothers don’t you ask me for no favors
I’m conditioned by the system, don’t you talk to me, don’t scream and shout
She prays to God, to Buddha, then she sings a Talmud song
Confusions contradict the self, do we know right from wrong?
I just want you to recognize me in the temple
You can’t hurt me, I found peace within myself
Michael Jackson, “Jam” (1991)

The Ukraine war affects the whole world.
What were Michaels thoughts about war and peace?
Not lyrics, just a quote from Michael but very relevant, imo.

That's the only thing you can agree on with me in this thread. I'd appreciate it if everyone who wants to discuss the theme of war and peace in Michael's work would STUCK TO THE TOPIC. And that was also, or predominantly, directed at you.
He did not start this thread.

I'm telling you on how I feel
Gonna hurt your mind, don't shoot to kill

We can change the world tomorrow
This could be a better place
If you don't like what I'm sayin'
Then won't you slap my face...

Michael Jackson, “Bad” (1987)

There comes a time
when we heed a certain call
When the world
must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it’s time to lend a hand
To life, the greatest gift of all

We can’t go on
pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere
will soon make a change
We are all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know
Love is all we need
Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie, “We are the World” (1985)

Every time I see what's going on, I think OH GOD how much the world misses Michael. very lacking

We're innocently standing by
Watching people lose their lives
It seems as if we have no voice
It's time for us to make a choice
Only God could decide
Who will live and who will die
There's nothing that cannot be done
If we raise our voice as one

They've gotta hear it from me
They've gotta hear it from you
They've gotta hear it from us
We can't take it
We've already had enough

Michael Jackson "We’ve Had Enough" 2004

28 years have passed since this music was released and the theme is still (if not more) relevant to this day.

Hey, what about yesterday?
(What about us?)
What about the seas?
(What about us?)
The heavens are falling down
(What about us?)
I can't even breathe
(What about us?)
What about apathy?
(What about us?)
I need you
(What about us?)
What about nature's worth?
(Ooh)
It's our planet's womb
(What about us?)
What about animals?
(What about it?)
We've turned kingdoms to dust
(What about us?)
What about elephants?
(What about us?)
Have we lost their trust
(What about us?)
What about crying whales?
(What about us?)
We're ravaging the seas
(What about us?)
What about forest trails?
(Ooh)
Burnt despite our pleas
(What about us?)
What about the holy land?
(What about it?)
Torn apart by creed
(What about us?)
What about the common man?
(What about us?)
Can't we set him free
(What about us?)
What about children dying?
(What about us?)
Can't you hear them cry?
(What about us?)
Where did we go wrong?
(Ooh)
Someone tell me why
(What about us?)
What about baby boy?
(What about it?)
What about the days?
(What about us?)
What about all their joy?
(What about us?)
What about the man?
(What about us?)
What about the crying man?
(What about us?)
What about Abraham?
(What about us?)
What about death again?
(Ooh)
Do we give a damn?
