I often see fans speak about Tatiana as if she was some kind of villain, obsessed, unstable, delusional girl who “made things up” after being removed. And maybe she was emotional, maybe she talked too much, maybe she misunderstood things and maybe she crossed a line. But one thing feels deeply unfair to me is the way all responsibility is placed on her, while Michael is painted as completely innocent. We don’t even truly know what their connection was. Maybe it was never a “relationship” ? Maybe it was just flirting, playfulness, a spark that lived only in that moment but what is clear is that he gave her hope. He gave her a sense of being special! He paid attention to her on set, he complimented her, he flirted with her, he was affectionate, he created a private intimate space between them. And when a man like Michael Jackson does that, it is not the same as when an ordinary man does it. His interest feels like a miracle, especially when he told his parents that he liked her!
Think about that for a moment! Any woman in her place would believe it. Any woman would think, this is real, this matters and I matter. Most people would run to tell the world because how often does something like that happen? I don’t believe he planned to make her his girlfriend, I think he had a crush on her. I think he enjoyed the feeling and I think he was curious, flirty, carried by emotions at that time. But the way he behaved looked serious and that is where the pain begins for her. One moment, she was living inside a dream. The next she was removed, humiliated, erased and he didn’t call her, he didn’t explain, he didn’t comfort her, he didn’t even close their story with honesty! It feels like he got carried away, let something grow and when it became complicated he disappeared. If any other man did this, people would call him emotionally careless. They would say he played with someone’s feelings, they would hold him responsible and manipulative But because it’s Michael, many fans turn blind! They say she was crazy, they say she deserved it, they rewrite the story so that he remains untouched! Okay, maybe Tatiana made mistakes but her mistakes do not cancel his right?
