Michael jackson Biopic Soundtrack Album ?

Will there be a soundtrack album for the biopic with unreleased songs and greatest hits, or just another best-of completions album?

From what I've been hearing, it's likely a "greatest hits with a twist" album, featuring all of MJ's hits "reimagined" by different artists (ex: "Man In The Mirror" remixed by Kirk Franklin).
 
John Ottman is attached as an editor - It doesn't seem like anyone has been announced to do the score so I think we can expect something very close to the below. Live, revisited and "Movie" mixes.

Throw in a Steeltown song, "Big Boy" or something. The live audio will be the interesting thing though, considering it's going to have to be mostly The Jackson 5 / Jacksons. That's where my real interest lies. Hoping that the audio from the released shows is not used.

But the question is, how many people consider that the best Queen album?

Basically, it's a mess. Very hard to listen to. Half live, half originals, and half "revisited". It doesn't know what it wants to be. I'd want an album with a clear purpose.

If you want a greatest hits, buy Number Ones, it just got a re-release. If you prefer a live album, a full show would be better, preferably on video.
 
Based on the very small sample size we have “man in the mirror Kirk Franklin”, Billie Jean sounds phenomenal I am excited especially if we get pristine multitrack victory tour audio on it.
 
HIStory is the perfect sound track for the film, they're already using His Story Made History as a tag line, HIStory begins fits for the first movie and HIStory Continues would fit the 2nd movie
 
Can we hope for the Dolby Atmos version of the soundtrack? This is the perfect chance to do this.

I was getting excited for Atmos back in 2017 when REM and The Beatles were doing it. It's kinda a bit late for it now. Especially considering a lot of the time these mixes are created but then never released!!

Also, it would likely form part of a $200 eight-disc box set, so it would be a hard pass from me. Not interested in any compilations, where you only get some of the songs. Just give me the full original Thriller/Bad/Dangerous albums in 5.1 or Atmos, on a single disc for $15. It's a waste of time otherwise.

will be released this year, gonna be on Apple Music, not on physical

I doubt they would consider using His story continues since it, it being his story, essentially ended in 2009. MICHAEL: His legacy continues would be a better fit in my opinion. They could use Jackson: His legacy continues too? Or they would have to end a potential part 2 before his passing.
 
having Michael as the title for a sequel as well wouldnt make sense for me really. Either call it "JACKSON" or "MICHAEL: PART II", although the latter wouldn't make much sense for me considering the first isn't called "PART I"

It’s possible. Studios often add Part I after the release for consistency once a Part II is announced. Dune launched as just Dune, but became Dune: Part One in marketing (posters, streaming, etc.) after Dune: Part Two was confirmed.

If they announce a sequel for Part II for the Michael movie, the first part could easily get rebranded as Michael: Part I in marketing afterward. Lionsgate Publicity now just refers to it as Michael.
