Michael Jackson Cassettes

I adore cassettes! I’ve got Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory, Come Together on Cassingle, a few Motown solo MJ collections, and recently I came across a few Janet albums on cassette.

I really must get Blood On The Dance Floor and Invincible on cassette.
 
I have a sealed Invincible - all the solo albums and Victory and Triumph (I think my Triumph is sealed too). I've Someone Put Your Hand Out too.

All but one of the Dangerous cassette singles. Nice little thread topic.
 
I love cassettes💜it’s my favourite way to listen to music (other than digital). my walkman plays at a higher pitch and a faster tempo.

I’m not a collector (I’m actually a minimalist), but in terms of michael I have the ‘thriller’ album and a motown compilation tape which features ‘somebody’s watching me’ & ‘farewell my summer love’
 
I think the first MJ album I bought was 18 Greatest Hits on cassette. At that time I had a recording of Bad (cassette recorded from cassette).

I then got Dangerous on cassette at release. I ended up with OTW on cassette too. I think that's it. Everything else is CD.

Weren’t they just the best days. A friend of mine leant me a copy of the Bad Tour from Cork City -where I’m from- and I was able to make my own copy of it. It was literally like getting my hands on a piece of treasure. Recording songs from radio, making mixtapes. Happy days.

My wife was gifted it from another MJ fan, and so it sort of became mine lol. I might look out for it on cassette also. I’ll also have to look in to buying a tape deck, incase I actually want to play these cassettes lol

Oh yeah, I recorded Bucharest from the TV onto VHS, then recorded the audio onto cassette...

Up until recently, I had a factory-installed cassette deck in the car. I've still got a good cassette deck upstairs, plugged into a secondary amp (my main amp is downstairs in the lounge).

I also taped Bucharest from the BBC onto VHS when it was broadcast. And I was given a copy of Bucharest the radio broadcast on cassette from one of my brothers wife sisters at time. That radio broadcast version is Thee Version in my opinion. It sounds amazing!

I believe this is the version.

 
It’s a 3” inch CD. Not sure where I got 7” inch lol, my bad.
 
To be honest, my order would be

CD > cassette > vinyl

I just prefer the convenience/portability over large unwieldy artwork.

Anyway, I asked this:

How many MJ CDs/vinyls/tapes do you own?

According to Wikipedia, MJ has 67 singles, 10 solo albums, not to mention 55 compilation albums, plus all the remix albums and videos, etc. So how many do you have? Including anything where MJ is the main listed artist, but don't include Jackson 5 or where he was just a producer or provided...

I think her days of forums are behind her. Not that she didn’t enjoy them or anything, more that she uses all these other things like instagram and TikTok. I’m the more MJ obsessed and she gets all the latest updates from me, aswell as me watching MJ on YouTube a lot and playing him in the car she probably feels it’s enough MJ for us both.

He sure does. I never thought I’d meet my wife on an MJ forum that’s for sure. I never thought I’d be sat watching MJ ONE in Vegas with my wife who I met through being an MJ fan. 💫 I’m beyond blessed.
