Hi Mo_Onw4lk3r - Yes, as andreus confirmed, the platinum certification in Europe includes the UK. Since a source at Sony Music UK has confirmed that 1.65 million units have now been shipped in that territory, one would think that European shipments well exceed 2 million units by now, therefore, a 2X platinum certification in Europe should hopefully be happening soon.

Hey Amit!

I have a small AUS #1's update...

While I am still trying to get a new source for exact figures, I have received confirmation that #1's has sold in excess of 100,000 copies in Australia since its release.

Hulk.

For those living in the UK, keep a close eye on the "Breathe, Don't Stop" from Mr On V Jungle Brothers song, that I believe is due to be released on 26th January.

Basically they sample "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" (although I prefer the Q-Tip version from 2 years ago). Although, this song might not seriosuly spike the "Number Ones" album in the UK, it still might have a positive influence on it. Why, because "samples" and cover versions due sometimes encourage others to buy the original material.

A good example can be seen this week. The band Tears For Fears has entered in at No.6 in the UK Album Charts, with a Greatest Hits Album. However, it is almost certain that Michael Andrews & Gary Jules's cover Version of their "Mad World" song from the film "Donnie Darko" movie (which ended up being Christmas No.1 on the UK Singles Chart, with high sales) may have had a positive effect on the Tears for Fears album sales. By this, I mean that the Tears For Fears may not have entered in the Top 10 albums if it wasn't for this.
