This was something I never knew, and it’s just amazing. For the 1973 Oscars, Michael was nominated Best Original Song for “Ben”. He did not win but he performed on stage that night. Incredible

Technically he wasn't the one nominated as he wasn't the song writer but he did perform it at the ceremony.
