Michael wearing the same outfit in two events in 2003?

I watched Michael's 45th birthday celebration at the Orpheum Theatre in LA and noticed his outfit is very similar to the outfit worn at the BET Awards 2003 in June earlier that year.

Michael's 45th birthday celebration (30th August):

BET Awards '03 - James Brown Tribute (24th June):

So yah, in both events, he wears generally the same outfit - white shirt with open chest and glittery jeans.

I suppose wearing similar outfits twice meant that these two events - the James Brown tribute and Michael's birthday - were equally important for him at that time in his life. I guess this was kinda Michael's "uniform", so to speak.

Keep in mind that fashion designers often make celebrities wear a specific, same outfit more than one times on public events.

This happens in order for fashion designers to promote better and more emphatically their clothes.

It's similar in theme for sure but each item of clothing is different. I think MJ did actually rewear the jeans from the BET awards at some point right? I can't picture where but he wore a dark blue shirt, maybe a blazer too.
