Its 2024, social norms and social attitudes have changed hugely in the last 15 years. Laws are changing in countries and acceptance of diversity, from body positivity, to pronouns, to various spectrums, is very much part of many peoples day to day lives. We are more educated about health issues, mental, emotional and physical well being. How we consume media has changed, and as a result, there is far more accessibility to all kinds of audio and video media.

So with all that in mind, it does not sit well with me, that Michaels personal life and professional career and now being analyzed by people who have no understanding of the world he lived in.

Everything is being skewed through a 2024 lens.

Everywhere I see Michael should have done this, Michael should have done that. He was wrong to do this, he should have made different decisions, why didnt he do this why didnt he do that.

Like the old Indian proverb says, do not judge a man until you've walked 2 moons in his moccasins.
Most people don't know me, that is why they write such things in which most is not true. I cry very very often because it hurts

Hmm. I replied but I got deleted without explanation. I can't quite remember what I said.

I won't be silenced, so I'm gonna post roughly the same thing using different words and we'll see what happens.

You talking about "pronouns", and "spectrums" - I don't acknowledge the existence of these phenomena, so I don't let them interfere with my enjoyment of MJ's music. It's all just intolerant people trying to force their opinion down other people's throats. It never ends well when somebody tries to do that with me.

Sure, some stuff from the 70s and 80s has aged a bit, and some younger people might not understand what's great about those songs/videos. But that's not my concern. I'll listen to MJ, and they can listen to Taylor Swift or whoever they think is the most politically correct. We're all different. Who cares?

The bottom line is you should listen to what you've always listened to. Enjoy what you enjoy. Don't worry about other people. If they like MJ too, then that's great. If they don't, then it doesn't matter.

In a nutshell the X app formerly known as Twitter, lol! I feel you! Everyday I see threads and personal think pieces about Michael's mental and life. I understand that songs will be analyzed and many aspects of MJs life but I feel if people write about these things, please preface it with "in my opinion." There are too many who take things as fact all because someone decided to make a thread filled with their opinions. I just saw a thread on the X App where a song of Mikes was analyzed and it bought (who the author of the thread thought the song was about) alot of unnecessary bashing. I especially have issue with some of those threads because they are written by folks who weren't even alive at the time and sometimes they miss key information or get information wrong! (Note: Newer/young fans, I'm not saying you can't write about MJ, just do some research, please!) Again, I don't mind the discussions, that's even why this forum is here but we don't always need a thesis into Michael's psychic via song lyrics or why he raised his left eyebrows during an interview. đź« . Like, we can discuss but don't present it as facts unless we have cold hard facts to back it up--something all MJ fans should know about.
