English is not my native language so please forgive me for any mistakes.
Not a made up story/fan fiction but rather a kind of letter that I wanted to write. I want to share with you what Michael Jackson means to me. I think this section of the forum is the most appropriate.
2024 is the year I truly discovered the person behind the artist. Before this year, I only knew his name and a few of his songs. I believed in horrible stories that tarnished his name. I judged him without even bothering to inform myself. I am glad that I did more research on Michael when I was exposed to a lot of videos of him this year. My curiosity pushed me to do it and I do not regret it at all.
His great generosity and his desire to help others really impressed me. I discovered a selfless and pure individual. From his childhood until his death, I have seen, heard and read only good things about him. Michael is an inspiring man who used his money, power and fame to help others. There are few people who come to mind when I think of someone who gave as much as he did. His messages of peace, environmentalism and social issues have touched me. The meaning of his armbands that he wore touched me. He truly cares for the suffering children of this world. He is an example to follow. Despite people dragging him down, he never lost faith in humanity and always continued to deliver inspiring messages. His mental strength and desire to improve our world are impressive.
Michael has had an impact on my outlook on life. He truly inspired me. Thanks to him, I try to see life through eyes like his. I try to better understand people's behavior. I try to be less judgmental. I express my appreciation and love for my friends. I remind them of the importance they have in my life and that I am happy to have them near me. I try to be more positive in general, even though life is full of challenges and obstacles. I want to be the best version of myself. I want to be a positive presence in the lives of those close to me. Reading about Michael, the good and bad sides of his life that he suffered, has allowed me to develop my empathy a little more. Thank you to him and all he offered to the people of Earth. His time in this world will have had a greatly positive impact on many lives.
In 2009, his death had no impact on me. I knew nothing about him except a few songs. In 2024, I found myself having tears in my eyes as I realized what we truly lost. Humanity has lost a pearl.
I would like to end this post with a few sentences that I find inspiring or that leave room for reflection in his songs:
- ''If you care enough for the living, make a better place for you and for me''
- ''We are the world, we are the children, we are the ones who make a brighter day, so let's start giving''
- ''If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change''
- ''Did you ever stop to notice, all the children dead from war?''
- ''I'm tired of bein' the victim of shame''
And to finish, this one seems appropriate for me because I criticized him before I even knew him.
- ''Before you judge me, try hard to love me''
Now, I love him.
Thanks for reading.
If you would like to share the impact Michael has had on your life, feel free to do so.
Love you
