What fool lawyer took that case after learning that the others left due to non-payment? Johnson keeps this case going because she is not losing any money--she does not pay her legal counsel.
This fake charity must be big business when you do it illegally, because this woman is really fighting for this. Michael seems to be the main exploitative ingredient for her, because she could simply go and start up another charity, if she is set on helping others.
Hey Milissa forget this case and set up the "Wellness Foundation," and really help others around the world. You do not need to exploit Michael Jackson if your true intent is to help.

Oh NO!! Are courts circuses? Now this lawyer will take his time to review the documents. I hope he knows he will find nothing among the papers that will help Mellissa win this case? It is now November, so we are looking at February? We already have a trial to look at in April.
It is only after following these cases since Michael died, that I really understand why he was in court so often. It is amazing how people who come by things illegally, fight so strongly to keep it.

MJ Estate has filed an opposition to HTWF's request to extend time. They are also asking for the court to dismiss the appeal based on failure to prosecute.

All this sort of cases have cost a lot for the estate, and in the end that money is taken away from PPB or paying towards the debs. Nina D. Boyajian from Greenberg Traurig LLP, law firm that the estate uses for trademark cases such as this case and I think Mann case too, are about to get, according to second accounting $3,707,184.60.
Those 2 cases are caused by MJ's family (you all know who). Then again they know how to spend money especially someone else's money.

I really don't see it getting any better for Miss Melissa. She can continue to change attorneys, but how will she pay them.
Attorney fees are no joke, even if said attorney is working out of a store-front office, their hourly rates can be moderate to high. She's gonna need a "backer" with deep pockets and I just don't see that happening at this point. Her best shot was with Howard "The Porn Guy" Mann," now that those MJ trademarks are out of play so is Mann and his money.
She might as well give up. In my opinion it's just a matter of time before this new attorney makes the "NON-PAYMENT" list.

Great move by the Estate. It's about time. Melissa Johnson has been gaming the appeal system for too long. the worst part is that she does not have any real ground for appeal and is merely wasting everybody's time. basically she's been trying to throw everything at the wall hoping somehow something will stick.

This new attorney seems to be aware of the "lack of funds" as himself wrote that in his motion. I'm hoping that this motion from Estate would result in either a dismissal or "you have 30 days and that's it no more extensions" type of ruling.

Im hoping this will be resolved with a dismissal now - Im hoping anyway. They have nothing new to offer and its just wasting the estate and courts time now. It's Time to move on.

Good. I hope this time the judge really looks at the patterns in this case. This woman continuously gets new lawyers, does not pay them, gets another, they ask for an extension due to new lawyer, they get the extension, woman does not pay......
What is her true purpose in having this case continue? Does she think the estate is wasting millions, so to get rid of her, they will offer some huge settlement. I have a feeling this is behind many of the cases recently..

Yes. And I think if this whole thing gets to the point where the appeal is finally thrown out of court, she will have to pay back the attorney's fees for the Estate because she lost the appeal by default.

The answering brief is due February 6, 2013. The optional reply brief is due within 14 days after service of the answering brief. Seriously why do matters of law take so damn long, I wonder if more people die waiting for court action than waiting for an organ transplant... bloody glaciers move orders of magnitude faster than the legal system.

This got nothing to do with the law and the speed of the law, this one is all about Melissa. She changed lawyers and asked for 3-4 extensions all of which were at least 3 months. If she followed the regular deadlines, she would have filed within 3 months and the reply etc would have taken 1.5 months. Overall this appeal could have been over within 6 month time period. Melissa is the one who has been delaying this appeal for more than 1 year.

oh i know this particular case has had extreme delays due to that mentalist but it does irk me how long that it took to get dr murderer to jail and in general on the news its always like someone was murdered and suspect arrested within a week but oh 2 years later they have a trial... sometimes i wonder how old i will be when the thome case is finished..
i know its cos of evidence gathering and thats important for truths sake but the time frame just generally seems a tad disproportionate.

She's probably not collecting much, if anything at all. LOL! She may have been able to collect a few dollars in the very beginning, but even the most devoted followers have tightened this purse strings at this point, in my opinion.
Mann and the Jacksons even left that sinking ship, once they found out they would not be able to get their hands on those MJ related trademarks.

Tomorrow is the day for opening brief, but HTWF just asked for another extension of 60 days - until March 2013 - due to personal reasons and inability to get / find some sealed documents.
