Here's a list of songs where MJ gets SOLE production credits:
State of Shock
Be Not Always
Don't Be Messin' Round
They Don't Care About Us
Stranger in Moscow
D.S.
Money
That's just a few. As songs MJ is willing to take sole production credits on, how do they stack up to efforts by other producers?
When you compare them to the demoes of many of his hits, like Billie Jean for instance, you hear the same process in them that he used for the majority of em. MJ favored simple melodies, but strong ones. I think overall he knew that the key to pop, and the future, was that it's catchy, rhythmic, and repetitive even.
