The arcade version of Moonwalker debuted first, dazzling audiences with its spectacle. Soon after, Sega released versions for the Genesis (Mega Drive) and Master System in 1990. The Genesis version launched in the U.S. on August 24, 1990, followed a day later in Japan, and quickly expanded into Europe, Canada, and Brazil. Computer versions were also released through U.S. Gold, making sure fans worldwide could step into Michael’s digital shoes.

Actually the computer versions (eg ZX Spectrum) came first, before the arcade version.

They were pretty good. They followed the movie much more closely, ie with the Speed Demon chase.

Michael Jackson fans in Mexico have reason to rejoice: Cinemex has officially announced that Moonwalker, the iconic fantasy-musical film starring Michael Jackson, will be re-screened in all Cinemex cinemas in January 2026. The re-release comes just ahead of the upcoming biopic, giving fans the opportunity to revisit or experience for the first time, this experimental piece on the big screen.

Funny enough i did a playthrough of this game two days ago on my MegaDrive, i made it to the spaceship shooter part but ran out of lives :ROFLMAO:
