Bonnie Cox has written a blog about a possible connection to MJ. Maybe no connection, time will tell.

I thought about it also - it has the earmarks of an old fashioned mafia hit. I do not know if she has any real connection to MJ. She was a hollywood publicist:

November 19, 2010 – And the HITS Just Keep On Coming
Please Pray for Ronnie Chasen

Well if they can’t accomplish it through Bilboard Music perhaps the only hits Sony can seem to get come in the form of bullets.

We are building up quite a body count around Michael Jackson in L.A. What is this all about?

Since Michael Jackson’s murder in June of 2009, those surrounding him in business and personal life have been slowly eliminated. In order of occurrence:

Evan Chandler

Bruce Ayers

The truth about Bruce Ayers:

“Bruce Ayers is the Director of Academic & Clinical Affairs for Minimally Invasive Aesthetics and the Arnold W. Klein Medical Corp. Bruce has an extensive clinical, medical and research background and directs our academic and clinical research programs in addition to providing management and staff oversight. Bruce, who joined the practice in 2005, travels extensively with Dr. Arnold Klein across the United States and around the World teaching the techniques and principals of minimally invasive aesthetics. Additionally, Bruce Ayers and Dr. Arnold Klein work together in the writing and publication of text book chapters and scientific articles on soft tissue augmentation, minimally invasive aesthetics and botulinum toxins, for peer-reviewed publications such as the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery, Dermatological Surgery, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology among others.”

Peter Lopez

Latest Hit: Ronni Chasen

BEVERLY HILLS (KTLA) -- Detectives investigating the murder of prominent Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen say she was shot before her car crashed into a light pole near Sunset Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Beverly Hills police found the wounded 64-year-old at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in her Mercedes E-350 sedan, which had crashed into a light pole on Whittier Drive, just south of Sunset Blvd.

Chasen was rushed to Cedars Sinai Hospital where she died about an hour later, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office confirmed.

There are no suspects or motive yet for the crime.

Police are focusing on forensic evidence gathered at the scene, and are now working from the theory that Chasen was shot before the car crash happened, according to Beverly Hills police Sgt. Lincoln Hoshino.

A resident who lives near where the crash happened told authorities she heard several shots before the sound of a car crashing.

And at least two witnesses have said there was little visible damage or evidence of gunshots inside Chasen's car. They also maintain there were no shell casings found inside the car or near it.
Police would not say whether shell casings were found at the scene of the crash.

Detectives are now trying to gather surveillance video from businesses and residents along Sunset Boulevard.

Investigators also seized computers from from Chasen's business, Chasen and Co., about 12 hours after she was gunned down early Tuesday.

Nahid Shekarchian, a 33-year resident of the neighborhood who lives just south of the house where Chasen's car crashed, said sometime after midnight she heard gunshots --"boom-boom-boom" -- and opened the curtain of her upstairs bedroom.

She told her daughter-in-law to call 911 and went outside to see what had happened.
Shekarchian said the woman in the car was bleeding profusely from her nose and had blood on her chest.

The window on the passenger side of the front seat had been shattered.
Another neighbor walked to the car window and asked: "Can I help you?" Shekarchian said the driver "was breathing very heavily" and did not respond.

Chasen had reportedly just attended the premiere and after-party of the Cher movie, "Burlesque."
Chasen was involved in Hollywood publicity since the 1970s, working on campaigns for movies and artists.

She promoted "On Golden Pond," which won Academy Awards for best actor, actress and screenplay in 1981.

She worked with a number of music clients in recent years, including Janet Jackson, composer Hans Zimmer, producer Glen Ballard and Diane Warren, who wrote the song "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me," which Cher sings in the new movie "Burlesque."

She also was also working with 20th Century Fox on the best actor Oscar campaign for Michael Douglas in "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps," Variety said.

Hollywood publicist Michael Levine, Chasen's longtime friend, has formed a reward fund for the arrest and conviction of her killer.

Levine hopes to raise a minimum of $25,000 within the next week.

"Ronni was an incredibly popular Hollywood icon for decades," said Levine. "And I know Hollywood friends will passionately participate in this vital effort to find her murderer."

Anyone interested in contributing to the fund should contact Levine's office at (310) 300-0950 x230. Source http://www.localwireless.com/wap/ne...59&cid=15943&scid=-1&ith=3&title=Top+Stories"

Ronnie was working with composers and song writers to add live performances to those that were used to writing musical scores for movies, theater and live shows.

“In a career that spanned more than 40 years, Chasen made her mark as a champion of film composers, and her efforts on behalf of such clients as Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore and James Newton Howard helped to dramatically raise the profile of composers' contributions to film. She was also respected as a top award-season strategist and a loyal supporter of many clients who had been with her for decades.

"She laid the groundwork for so many others on how to be a top publicist in the film music industry representing top composers and songwriters," said Laura Dunn of the Society of Composers and Lyricists. "She was tenacious, a force of nature, working tirelessly for her composer clients. She will be sorely missed in our film music community." Source http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118027596

I mention this because this was something Michael wanted to get into, writing music for movies and “marrying” the visual to the music. Kenny Ortega and Arnold Klein both were good friends of Ronni’s. She had also been a publicist for Janet Jackson. She was coming home from the after-party for “Burlesque”, a movie that Kenny Ortega directed and two of the dancers in “This is It” were actors.

The two “suicides”, Evan Chandler and Peter Lopez are suspicious at best. Evan Chandler, a previous dentist and co-screenwriter for “Robin Hood – Men in Tights” left no note. The family and friends of Peter Lopez insist his death was not a suicide.

That is how important control of Michael’s ATV catalog is to these people. We have Sony advocates posting the fallacy that not buying the album will hurt Michael’s children. Well EXCUSE ME, but Michael’s children didn’t want to trade their FATHER for this album! Is it worth all these lives? Michael did NOT want this! Not the album! Not the hijacking of his intellectual property, not the loss of their father from his children and not all these deaths!

You are NOT supporting Michael buying this album. You are paying the fee for the murders of all these people! And you are paying for those who murdered Michael!

It does not take a PhD to figure out that There was NO RUSH TO SELL or make deals for unreleased music by Sony until Michael was killed. Where was all the promotion of Michael’s work BEFORE June 25th, people?

The reason there was NO RECORD DEALS for new or unreleased music between 2001 and June 25th, 2009. Sony put out the songs they already owned on box set collections and “Thriller 25th Anniversary” which consisted of remixes of songs from previous albums. Why didn’t Michael and Sony make a deal for all these hundreds of unreleased songs?

Because no relationship existed until Michael was killed, that’s why!

Look at all the activity since he died! Where was it before then?

If you buy this album, you have contributed to financing his murder and the murder of these people.

If you are Michael’s fan, you will support Michael, not Sony.

If you support this album, you are an accessory to a crime.

Slain Hollywood Publicist Thought She Was Being Followed Before Her Death

This just keeps getting more and more awful.

New details are emerging about murdered Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen, some of which support the belief that she may have been slain by a contract killer!

Sources close to Chasen revealed that she suspected that she was being followed – since last year’s Academy Awards!

Insiders explain:

“Ronni said in March she suspected she was being followed, but didn’t know by whom. She said she was scared. Some people close to her believe it was a hit, but nobody knows why.”

Former LAPD chief William J. Bratton continues:

“This is a real Hollywood whodunnit. Four days in we still have no idea [what happened]. Nobody seems to have come up with anything substantive as far as motive goes. Beverly Hills has very few homicides, so every resource they have will be focused on this.”

Meanwhile, Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills police department maintains:

“People are coming out with all types of theories. But we will not rule out anything until the perpetrator is found.”

Unbelievable, tragic, and honestly, we have no idea what to believe at all.

We just hope that whomever’s responsible for such a disgusting act will be discovered and brought to justice.

May Ronni rest in peace.

Slain publicist Ronni Chasen’s Jewish life

Posted by Danielle Berrin

It was fitting, in that Hollywood way, that the last time Ronni Chasen was seen alive was at a movie premiere. She had been in all her Hollywood glory – stylish and smiling, effortlessly working the room, among friends.

It was after midnight, a short while later, when the power publicist was driving down the dark winding streets where Sunset Boulevard meets Beverly Hills when shots rang out into the night. Chasen crashed her black Mercedes into a lamppost and was found slumped over the steering wheel, bleeding to death. She had been shot multiple times and died an hour later.

Her violent and mysterious death sent shockwaves throughout the entertainment community. How did this happen? Why did this happen? Who wanted her dead? It was the end of a life, but the beginning of a Hollywood murder mystery that has turned up no leads. No suspects. No motives.

It has turned up a reward: $100,000 from the organizers of the Palm Springs International Film Festival, whom Chasen worked with, for anything that leads to the apprehension of her killer.

Those in the entertainment industry who knew Ronni Chasen, a ubiquitous presence at all the parties, awards shows, and chic restaurants in town, remember a vivacious tour-de-force who drew little distinction between her professional and private lives.

In Chasen’s world, work was life and clients were family; she was Jewish by birth, but her religion was Hollywood.

“She had a place in this community and in the solar system of Hollywood,” said Tom Tapp, a former editor at Variety. “It’s kind of like one of the planets is missing.”

A fixture of the industry circuit for three decades, Chasen was considered a trailblazer and a relentless workaholic. “I really didn’t know Ronni when she wasn’t working,” said Invictus producer Mace Neufeld, a friend and client of Chasen’s for 35 years. “When she wasn’t working she was working.”

Over the course of her career, Chasen tirelessly pounded the pavement, helping win Oscars for her A-list clients, including the late Natalie Wood, producers Richard Zanuck (“Jaws”, “Planet of the Apes”) and Irwin Winkler (“Rocky”, “Raging Bull”) and a slate of composers including Hans Zimmer.

“She was one of a kind,” Neufeld said.

In an industry known for big egos, absurd insecurities and flimsy loyalties, Chasen was a class act. She wasn’t religious, but she was deeply principled, an elegant, caring woman. “She was totally professional. She didn’t bad mouth people. And she did her job with great class. I don’t remember when Ronni was ever relaxing because her clients and her business were her life.”

Indeed. Chasen celebrated everything from birthdays to holidays with her clients. Lynne Segall, publisher of Nikki Finke’s entertainment news Website Deadline.com said Chasen attended Irwin Winkler’s Passover seder and Yom Kippur break-fast each year. Neufeld remembers a time 11 years ago when he and Chasen attended the Venice Film Festival during the high holidays; Chasen was restless, scouring the streets of Venice, Italy until she found a synagogue.

Chasen also had a brother, Larry Cohen, a well-known B-movie writer/director with whom she was close. They grew up in the Washington Heights and Riverdale sections of New York, according to The New York Times, where their father was a real estate broker and their mother, a homemaker.

But the centerpiece of Chasen’s Jewish life was at Temple of the Arts on Wilshire Boulevard, where she was a member and attended High Holiday services every year, according to Rabbi David Baron who will perform her funeral service on Sunday.

Chasen was known as a beauty in her youth and began her career as an actress. She appeared on a smalltime soap opera but quickly defected to the world of PR where her star shone even brighter. She ascended the ranks at the firm Rogers & Cowan where the late legendary publicist Warren Cowan, took her under his wing. For a time she ran publicity at MGM until finally setting up her own shop, Chasen & Co. in 1991.

“She was a straight shooter and she never took no for an answer,” said producer Zvi Howard Rosenman, who met Chasen in 1976, when few women were in positions of power in the industry. “In the 70s, it was like, ‘Ohmigod she’s so aggressive.’ But her aggression was never edgy or ugly; it was always in the service of her clients.”

Her clients thought she was fearless, smart and insightful: “She wasn’t just interested in getting your name in the paper,” Neufeld said. “She was concerned about the content of what was said about you and the image that you wanted to project. She was very smart about that.”

Journalists found her aggressive, relentless and incredibly effective: “She wasn’t afraid to speak truth to power no matter who it was. She was dogged in her commitment to her clients.” Tapp said. “As an editor of Variety, I spent many hours on the phone with Ronni when she would pitch things that I thought were impossible for a story. But she just kept at it, and I’d say, a lot of the time she convinced me. She was someone who could do the impossible in Hollywood.”

Until the impossible happened to her.

“I think it was a random act or an attempted robbery,” Neufeld said.

The mystery of her murder has prompted conspiracy theories and rumors of a dark shadow side to her life. Was there a mafia connection? A secret spurned lover?

After all, Chasen had a reputation as an “old-school broad,” always impeccably dressed, with perfectly coiffed golden-blonde hair, expensive shoes and a magnetic personality. “She was the type of woman who’d be at a cocktail party and Clint Eastwood would walk up and say hello to her,” Tapp said.

Chasen was a very private person but friends say she had a string of low-profile romances with high-profile men. “She was like a Howard Hawkes broad,” Rosenman said. “She could drink and swear with the men and flirt as a woman. She was alluring like Lauren Bacall—she had that quality.”

Chasen married and divorced when she was in her 20s but never had children. She dated here and there, but the truth is, she was married to her work. And that’s how she liked it.

“She was an iconic figure—she was an original,” said publicist Michael Levine, the founder of Levine Communications Office, a premier PR firm. “Her clients had almost familial relationships with her. I would frequently see her at lunch and dinner but almost always with a client. She was very immersed in the movie business. She had a very good reputation; she was well respected, well known, feisty and tenacious.”

But for all the time spent in the spotlight, at the end of the day, Chasen drove home alone. And no one knows what possible darkness might have lurked beneath her shiny surface.

“There was nothing dark about her,” Rosenman said. “She wore white, she had blonde hair!”

Her death stunned and saddened in equal measure. And the Hollywood community she loved so well was left grasping for answers.

“She had so many people that loved her completely,” Deadline.com’s Segall said of her late friend of more than 20 years. “This was such a senseless, random, violent way for someone to go.”

“I can tell you that for Hollywood this is not merely a murder—this is a 9/11 moment,” Chasen’s colleague Michael Levine said. He, like most of Chasen’s friends, is dismissive of any suspicious murder plot. “Life is short and life is unpredictable, and this is extremely unsettling. So we seek explanation, we seek order, when sometimes, there isn’t.”

When I heard about this on the news I immediately wondered if she was someway connected to Michael. I've been waiting for someone to bring her up here.

There sure is. We've seen the mafia ties to Malnik, Mottola and DiLeo. Interesting that the media is also making Randy Quaid and his wife out to be crazies too--Hollywood Whackers--not far fetched IMO

Not far-fetched:

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen's killer fired at least four shots into her car, including at least one hollow-point bullet, in last week's Beverly Hills attack, according to a leaked coroner's report.

Although the three-page report has not been made public, Los Angeles County coroner spokesman Brian Elias confirmed to CNN that a document shown in a local newscast appeared to be authentic.

The document was written by investigators on the first day of the investigation to help the doctor who would perform the autopsy the next day, Elias said. The full autopsy report is expected to be released next week, he said.

Chasen, 64, died from gunshots fired into her Mercedes-Benz as she turned off Sunset Boulevard on her way home from a star-studded premiere celebration for the movie "Burlesque" in the early morning of November 16.

The mysterious murder in a posh Beverly Hills neighborhood not only stunned her friends, but also sent fear through the exclusive community.

"One bullet was recovered from her back while at the hospital and is possibly from a 9 mm hollow point," according to the document shown on Los Angeles television station KTTV.

Hollow-point bullets are controversial because the slug is designed to expand after it enters a body, causing greater damage to tissue than a solid bullet.

The report included details previously disclosed by police, including the belief Chasen was shot while she was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Whittier Drive. "An unknown vehicle pulled up and someone fired approximately four rounds into her vehicle," it said.

"After being struck by gunfire ... she then made a left turn and drove for approximately a quarter mile before she crashed her car into a pole," the report said.

Chasen was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai hospital 45 minutes after the shooting, the report said.

Details about how many shots hit Chasen and where they entered will not be known until the autopsy report is released, likely next week, Elias said.

The initial examination, apparently done at the hospital soon after Chasen's death, revealed three gunshot wounds to her chest area, the report said.

At least three other wounds were found on her right shoulder and upper back, the report said. But it was not indicated if those were where the bullets might have exited the body.

The report also confirmed that investigators found no shell casings at the scene and only the passenger side window and passenger seat were damaged by the gunfire.

The lack of official information about the investigation has spurred speculation by residents and reporters about the killing.

Beverly Hills Police Chief David Snowden asked journalists a week ago to keep "erroneous information, theories or speculation" out of their stories. The chief assured residents that it was "a rare, isolated incident and that the Beverly Hills community remains one of the safest in the nation."

There is no prevailing theory on whether the attack was road rage or a planned hit, a police official said. No motive or suspects have been identified, he said.

Beverly Hills detectives scanned Chasen's computers and phone logs for leads and went door to door for video clues from residential security cameras, a police spokesman said.

Chasen had been on the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre just hours earlier, walking with songwriter Diane Warren as she and "Burlesque" star Cher were interviewed about the music in the film.

Warren, who contributed the song "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" to the movie's soundtrack, said Chasen also went with her to the after-party at Hollywood's W Hotel.

Warren, who wrote Toni Braxton's tearful ballad "Un-Break My Heart," said she was "devastated beyond belief."

"This was a nice woman," Warren said. "Everybody loved Ronni. She was the best at what she did."

Chasen's work for three decades earned her a reputation as a publicist who could help create Oscar buzz for clients, which many times ended with Academy Awards.

Jrsfan,
Thanks for the excellent briefing. This is a brilliant frame of reference that will allow us to take a good look and make an educated guess as to what could be lying behind this murder and to what extent this could be related to Michael.
Other than the Sony connection there's not much I can see for now. From what I've read, Ronnie must have been a remarkable person who apparently inspired a lot of people around her.
It would be good to know what she was up to during the last months of her life.

LOS ANGELES — A man wanted for questioning in the slaying of a Hollywood publicist killed himself in the lobby of a dreary Los Angeles hotel as police closed in with a search warrant – the latest mysterious turn in a case that began on a posh stretch of Beverly Hills.

The death deepened the mystery into the slaying of Ronni Chasen, who was shot in her luxury Mercedes as she drove home from the premiere of an Oscar contender last month.

Residents and witnesses told various stories about the man. One resident said he bragged about the killing and was waiting for a $10,000 payment, but a man who worked in a nearby music studio was skeptical of a connection to Chasen's death.

Witnesses said the man appeared to shoot himself in the head Wednesday, splattering blood across the lobby of the Harvey Apartments, a residential hotel where people rent rooms by the month. The building is in a stretch of warehouses and small businesses next to a dive bar called Gold Diggers Entertainment.

I don't think this murder has any connection. Some fans are thinking too much.

I think it does- it's meant to make people shut up. I think its very scary actually unless it is a coincidence perhaps.

If there are enough suspicious deaths, people will be afraid to testify, so I hope that they have gathered everything. And I hope they got them all - judges, lawyers & pi's & the tabs, LAPD. We all KNOW its blackmail for one thing or another. Everyone messes up one way or another. I am sure people are deliberately setup too - drugs, alcohol etc. They are led to slaughter. It was no coincidence There are many I am sure who have been setup in advance to intimidate others. They have all seen this coming. All of them. They have all been reading my posts & it is so obvious. And I want them all to fall down.

The tabs are all so phony - I worked at Walmart & most get thrown away. I hardly sold any. The numbers are lies. Its all money laundering. And Hollywood has been terrified for years, decades, perhaps. Most People mags get thrown away I think too. They rip the cover off & throw it away. Advertisers get scammed by phony numbers too.

When I see Travolta, Oprah or Tom Cruise on the cover of a tab - I think Bert Fields, Weitzman, Shapiro, Geragos, Branca or pi's Barresi, Bradley Miller etc. PI's wiretap all the time down there & if they get caught it is just a slap on the wrist. And there is all kinds of high tech out there. It is all a setup. The corruption is out of control & it has to affect every part of peoples lives. Pellicano took the fall for everyone last time. I wonder who they have already setup as the fall guy this time. He has already been picked by someone. And if you're not good, you may not get parts. Is that really anyway to live for anybody? It has to be stressful. Stress in you reflects in your children. And I think it reflects everywhere in the nation. We may not buy the mags but we all see them at the grocery counters. They're not fun entertainment, they're vicious.

Speaking of corruption and cover up:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/12/09/earlyshow/main7133382.shtml

First, LE says Smith's weapon not the weapon used to murder Chasen. Now, ballistics show it is! He acted alone (convenient?) and not a professional hit? Robbery gone bad? Rode a bicycle to commit this robbery? What about the black Lincoln in the CCTV video?

This doesn't add up, and it's obvious many do not believe this scenario that LE has come up with. Whoever procured this hit has made it worthwhile for LE--and that they acquiesced is no surprise--the corruption in CA in staggering.

I so agree with the bold part. Ever since I kept hearing about tabloids sell because of sensationalism years ago, I made a point to always look around at the cashier whether it's Walmart or the grocery store or everywhere they sell tabloids. I've NEVER ever seen anybody buy one. In fact, the very few times I bought one myself, I felt almost ashamed because I felt I was the only one buying this shit.

Also why was this dangerous criminal out on the street and not in jail with this kind of rap sheet?

Are the Quaids still in Canada?

Very interesting discussion going on at huffington post

I would like a better description of the events leading up to Smith's suicide. I can't remember if he did it surrounded by police or if he did it out of full view.
I'm just having a hard time believing he would shoot her but not rob her and then kill himself at the thought of prison. Wouldn't a person that intent on not going back to prison have committed a less visible crime? Smith seems a little old to attempting the kind of crime that only a confused and inexperienced young thug would try. And frankly suicide is fairly rare among African Americans.

jg dborah 6 hours ago (11:04 AM)
I believe all his neighbors saying he talked about a) killing her, and b) waiting for a $10K payday. They would have no reason to lie, esp knowing they would endure the rigors of interrogat*ion and testifying. I don't think he knew who Ronni was but was set up and found out later in the news.

With his history of drugs and weapons, he's the perfect patsy. And no car, plus the threat of eviction, the lure of that kind of money would make him very easy to be manipulated. Perhaps that mystery limo seen in the surveillance camera on Whittier or other similar luxury car to blend with the neighborhood was driven by whoever hired him to make the hit. The bicycle is just a distraction. Once he realized what he was dealing with, in this scenario, plus impending 3 strikes law, suicide would not be such a stretch.

Whatever it is, it is NOT the way the BHPD is trying to peddle it to us. I'm still running with The PO'ed Brother theory.

I find it odd that nobody has commented on the discrepancy between the police reporting that there was NO ballistic match between HM Smith's gun and the one that was used to kill Ronni Chasen and then, yesterday, another report from the police to the effect that there IS a match.

Which is the case?

One more thing: If there is surveillance video of H.M. Smith's suicide, as claimed by the police, why has nobody seen this video. It could be crucial in proving that there was indeed a suicide rather than a homicide of some sort.

I think it's assumed to be already known about the No/Yes ballistics discrepancy. Also, police never release video of a suicide or murder for public/media consumption. It would only be shown to those investigating the case, for an Inquest, or possibly a Grand Jury, and definitely a trial if it came to that.

Dead men don't talk and it would be convenient to use Harold Smith as a scape goat to end an investigation into Ronni Chasen's murder, even if the "matching" bullets are not conclusive that Harold Smith is Ronni's murderer.

In a perfect world it would be nice to have stronger evidence against Harold Smith, and just because someone has alleged that Harold said he murdered Ronni, does not necessarily mean that that witness is telling the truth or heard correctly.

How do we know for sure Harold said this, and if he did say it, what about the rest of the story that Harold was going to get paid for the hit?

Also I am not convinced Harold's suicide is admission of guilt for Chasen's murder. If Harold Smith's story really is his story, and not just made up or embellishe**d by unknown alleged witnesses some of whom stand to receive $125,000!!

If Harold said that he killed Ronni and was going to receive 10K after as payment - then why aren't Beverly Hills police pursuing this, even though the idea of waiting to be paid after a murder does sound silly when Harold was not paid before the murder, and was forced to carry out the "planned" murder using a bicycle.

Why is only half of a witness's story alleging Harold Smith admitted killing Ronni being used by the Beverly Hills Police, since the witness alleged Harold said

1) He killed Ronni

2) He was waiting to be paid.

"The Gerdabis are in shock. Naz Gerdabi says Smith robbed her mother 12 years ago outside the family home while she went out to get the mail. She also added the family moved from Beverly Hills because they feared Smith would return."

The BHPD never contacted this woman about Smith?! She found out about his 'involveme*nt' in the Chasen murder through the media???? The BHPD can't be that incompeten*t. I convinced there's a rope-a-dop*e going on here.

Absolutely NOT confirmed! I agree with the skeptics here.

Really tho, DO NOT OVERTHINK: who has the most to gain by Ms Chasen’s death? Oddly, her screenwriter brother Larry Cohen is her Estate Executor; dismissed it as road rage (see NY/T/P article), "sure" it WASN'T Smith. Really? I know if my family member were murdered, I'd demand a thorough investigat*ion, not a tidy "case-closed."

The motive? Someone mad at her enough to plan it with certain results! Someone who cared enough to risk it. Was Ronni changing Larry’s status in her will? He’s $500K in gambling debts, AND the father of the niece snubbed in the will. And is why he’s so quick to move on.

CSI-wise? As already noted, hollow-point bullets (to ensure death), targeted to chest/heart, no casings found, no robbery evidence. And we're made to believe a loser con on a bike could pull this off alone? Really now. It’s a sad day when our police forces assume all they have to do is blow official-sounding smoke at the Stupid Public and it'll all go away.

I just hope once the responsible parties relax in their smugness, start bragging as they always do, justice will be served. The karma I believe in happens in this lifetime as certain retribution in prison.

We are all each other's keeper in some way, especially when an injustice needs to be righted. Keep the heat on the police and media! Ronni deserves it.

Sunset and Whittier is a terribly inconvenient place to hold up someone. Firstly, the lights in the area don't stay red long, Sunset Blvd. moves quickly and has too many cars (i.e. witnesses) and it has the best police department in the western US (to say the least).

So many things don't add up in this case that I can only presume that the press conference contained lots of misinformation on purpose to throw off the scent as they get closer to the real criminal behind this murder.

I believe there is a common denominator between these people ending up dead, and it's probably their intension to be vocal about something.
It turns out that 'suicides' are conveniently shutting mouths?
Can't rule out this possibility. There may not be compelling evidence, but indications based on the degree of corruption in the wider area can be equally strong.
