I will be watching it a bit later on so will be going offline until then but I am very excited.

The New Donkey Kong looks so good.
Yup, that will be an instant buy (if and when I get a hold of this console). The game prices are a bit through the roof though and I hope they only do it for Mario Kart and nothing else. When I get to buy the console I will go for the MK bundle though so it won’t affect me (if it isn’t sold out immediately. DK is $70 so that’s a plus I guess.

Also weird that that Nintendo world game isn’t a pack in title.

You don’t, I think it’s a $10 upgrade if you already have it and it’s free if you have the online subscription.
Ah! I missed that part thanks. I see that Pokemon Scarlet/Violet get free upgrades though, but $10 won't break the bank. I won't be getting a Switch 2 this year anyway, I don't have my original that long.

$ 450 and not even an OLED screen? C'mon Nintendo.

Nintendo’s Tetsuya Sasaki has now explained the decision to go with an LCD screen over the OLED as part of a recent interview. Sasaki indicated that the LCD space has seen “a lot of advancements” and also pointed out that the OLED version of Nintendo Switch didn’t support HDR, which is built in for Switch 2.
Sasaki shared the following in that interview:
“Now there’s a lot of advancements that have been made in LCD technology during development. We took a look at the technology that was available to us now and after a lot of consideration we decided to stick to LCD. Even with the OLED version of Nintendo Switch, we didn’t have compatibility support for HDR, but that’s something we have the support for now.”

I finally got a pre-order at a big retailer in the Netherlands for the Mario Kart World bundle. They said I can pick it up on June 5th at 9 am. I'm so happy that I was fast enough because here in The Netherlands the pre-orders sold out very quickly. This will be the first time that I'll get a new console on launch day, so I'm very excited!

I think Nintendo hit it out of the park with the initial direct presentation. Lots of games that people want, the 120hz screen on the handheld is awesome as well. A shame that the price is a massive controversy that is taking most of the conversation up. I don't think the price of the console is bad, the price increase to games is a bit of a kick in the stones, though.

I havent been a Nintendo dude since the Snes and N64 days and I only owned
2 games on the N64: GoldenEye and Perfect Dark….both great games.
Now its PlayStation and Xbox that I have in my home.
The new Switch2 looks great but very expensive aka more expensive than PS5
and Series X in my country.

Nintendo hasn’t shared information on how costly it is to produce one Switch 2 unit, but that’s where industry insiders can at least give us a ballpark figure. Speaking to Bloomberg, Hideki Yasuda of Toyo Securities shared their thoughts on just how much money Nintendo has to put towards one Switch 2 to get it out to consumers.

“We believe the Switch 2’s bill of materials is around $400, meaning Nintendo would still be selling consoles at a loss in the US with the 10% tariff — but the loss would be something Nintendo would be able to absorb.”

Cyberpunk looks pretty decent on Switch 2. Of course it won't look as fancy as other versions, but I think we are actually at a point where Nintendo only people will be able to get a good enough experience with modern games and feel like it's close enough without there having to be too many compromises. Third party showing has been pretty awesome and you can tell they wanted to get in on the ground floor with this one after the success of the first Switch.

Nintendo announced its first batch of games for Switch 2 recently, but Mario was missing in action – aside from Mario Kart. Some were surprised that the company did not show off a brand new 3D entry in the franchise. Outside of the bite-sized Bowser’s Fury adventure as part of the Super Mario 3D World re-release, there hasn’t been a new game since Super Mario Odyssey in 2017.

So where is Mario then? CNET posed that question to Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser in a recent interview. Bowser would only shared the following:
“Stay tuned. You know, we have a long, long catalog, and a long list of (intellectual property) that I’m sure will make its way to the platform.”
