you are correct. That story is in Moonwalk. Paul sang it to Michael at a party before he released it himself.
I finally heard Paul's version. Michael and Quincy really changed it for the better. Great song.

And I LOVE I Can't Help It. The piano sounds like little magic bubbles or twinkling falling stars. I love the scatting. You feel like you are falling in love in that song-ecstasy.

I'm in love with the whole album. I listen to it every day
 
Beyonce did I Cant Help It when i saw her around 10 years ago. I had no interest in being there as I only knew like 2 songs at the time, but this being her favourite album she belted it out and I even remember her kinda doing a moonwalk in her heels during a Thriller instrumental.

I think I was the only person to go crazy when she asked if anyone knew I Cant Help It
 
^^i saw her do it in concert (via YouTube) when Michael died. I was shocked that anybody else knew that song.

And I recently saw Esparanza Spauldings video of it. It was just wow.
 
My 3 year old cousin is obsessed with Rock With You. I know it happens a lot, but I always enjoy seeing much younger people discover MJ. I love how Michael's music can reach different age groups and different generations.

Michael said himself the recordings of Off The Wall and Thriller were the most happiest moments of his career.....
 
If you don't understand why Michael would be happier, it'd be because after Thriller he had pressure to top it.
 
Michael was clearly happier in those years, you don't really have to wonder why.. 1993 broke his heart!

I do believe there was "pressure" to top the greatest selling album ever

Bad was the most eagerly anticipated follow up in music history

but in sheer artistic merit, and crafting an album of music in the most heartfelt manner, to freely bring that music together, I do believe and Michael said in that interview with Good Morning America, Thriller and mostly Off The Wall represented the happiest moment of his recording career

You can see that happiness in his album cover, the spirit of the entire album when presented in full context is one of happiness and joy
