Rank the HIStory/BOTDF songs from fave to least fave

If more people would contribute I might be tempted to attribute points to the songs so we have a more “global” ranking of the fave tracks. 20 points for nr 1, 19 points for nr 2 and so on…

EDIT: I might actually turn this into an entire career encompassing search for the hardcore fans’ (namely us) favorite songs. But only if people would actually contribute because some work is needed which I am glad to do if there is appetite from all of you.
If 25 people find the time to rank these, I will make a comprehensive total for each song and the top 5 songs will go to the next round.
But like I said it is up to you all if I continue this 🙂

My idea for following topics similar to this one
- “rank the Off the wall/Thriller tracks”
- “rank Bad/Dangerous tracks”
- “rank Invincible/Michael songs”
- “rank Escape/ Bad25/Thriller 40 songs”

I personally would love to do the same for the solo Motown stuff but I don’t think these will have enough voters.

I understand the surprise. It's a cool song, but it's not "my" energy. I don't listen to her this song at all. I don't feel very comfortable.

It hurts to see Smile ranked at the bottom by a few people. Written by the legendary Charlie Chaplin and it was also MJ's favourite song.

MJ's vocals are beautiful, although I may prefer one of the alternative vocals than what was put on the album.

Does anyone else think that little Susie is a bit of a creepy song? , It's the intro. It's such a haunting track.

The part when the girl starts to la la along with the music, it reminds me of something you would find in a horror film.

Agreed about the la la part, it is only missing a jump scare lol
Horror films throughout history have children’s rhymes or singing presented as something ominous.

But once the lyrics start it turns into sadness for me, this was a happy little susie that got murdered, I think the la la part conveys her innocence very well making the lyrics hit twice as hard.
 
Little Susie at least for me is one of his most interesting songs. I don’t think I’ve heard anything like it. The version I have cuts out the intro because I just want to get to it, and it’s so strange. The hate it gets surprises me because it is so different to anything else he’s ever done and that should at least be appreciated. And he sounds great on it.

As for Smile…hate the song. His vocals can’t bring that up from being awful.

It's difficult, though. First of all, just trying to rank the songs. Practically impossible. My brain explodes and not in a good way, lol. I can't even do this one unless I split it into the two separate albums. Which might look something like this:
